“As this was my well looked after Jaguar XF, full Jaguar service history, my son bought this off me when i bought a new one.
After about 4 months he noticed that it started to sound like a tractor when staring from cold, so he took it to Jaguar who told him it was the timing chain. (82,000 on the clock).
As he didn't want to spend the £4000+ that Jaguar wanted, i found you guys and the price was affordable.
Since it has been done though, it has made no difference to the starting though runs well when warm.
He is taking it back to Jaguar for a diagnostic check to see what the problem is.
What do i do if they tell him if it's the timing chain again ?
Just waiting on him having time to take the car back to Jaguar.”
