Inspection done, but repair never completed after upfront payment I paid £79 for a diagnostic inspection, which was completed. After the inspection, I received a repair quote through ClickMechanic. Using the business card the mechanic provided, I later contacted him to discuss the repair. During that conversation, he offered to complete the work at a lower cost than the ClickMechanic quote and requested an upfront payment for parts. I paid the requested amount in good faith. However, the mechanic did not return to carry out the repair. No parts were fitted, no work was done, and although a refund was mentioned, it was never received. Communication later became dismissive. I also noticed after the initial visit that my vehicle was left with the heater set to high, which was not explained at the time. I was left with no option but to escalate the matter through my bank as a service-not-provided issue. ClickMechanic’s own guidance says customers shouldn’t take work off-platform, and that was the reason I ran into problems. Based on my experience, I would advise other customers to exercise caution, particularly regarding any upfront payments or arrangements made outside the platform.

Very happy with the whole service (took a little longer than desired) but that was probably due to the fact that it was holiday time so won't hold that against them !

Excellent experience from start to finish. Martin was friendly, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and very efficient. He collected my car at the agreed time and dropped it back earlier than expected with a full explanation of what he had done. He is clearly very passionate about what he does and I would happily recommend him to all.

Gabriel did a fantastic job getting my bonnet back open again. Not only did he manage to get it open but he also explained to me what needed doing to fix the issue and also showed me how to fix the problem myself should I decide to.

Very happy, mechanic was really good about messaging & giving updates & very pleasant to deal with.

He was fantastic, although he couldn’t repair the driveshaft because of a fault in the gearbox. He gave me suggestions on what to do whether to get a new gearbox or just find a new car. He previously tried hours on end to fit the driveshaft which had snapped in half but in which case couldn’t because the gearbox had over heated and welded into the gearbox.
