Very prompt - efficient and communicative. However, I’m not convinced the pre inspection check was thorough and although many boxes were ticked - compared to previous checks by AA and RAC not really impressed. I made a point of asking the mechanic to check the body work as I am converting the van to a day/camper van. Over the phone he told me it was fine other than some minor scuffs.
There are dents in the roof - a drilled hole in the dashboard - numerous scratches including two small dents one, one in the passenger door, and a crack on the rear of the near side mirror. I find it hard to believe a detailed 175 point check was done in the time given - although the van does appear mechanically sound - apart from the rear discs and pads that are worn and were highlighted.
If I was buying the van as a trader it might have been fine - but I feel the mechanic failed to fully understand my message prior to the check - in that the condition of the body work was important to me because of the intended purpose. An expensive hour! Read more
