We were expecting the mechanic between 8am and 10am on Monday morning. A driver arrived at 3pm to drive the car away to a garage. ~We were expecting the job to be carried on on the driveway as it was a catalytic converter replacement which I had been told from elsewhere that it should take 1-2 hours and was accessible from the engine.. I explained to the driver that I needed the car back before 11am the following day. Later that day I had confirmation before 5pm that the job was complete. Expecting the car to be returned early on the Tuesday morning, I ran at 11am to be told it would be back by 1pm, after explaining that it was urgent the driver (not the mechanic) returned the car at 11.50am. I am sure the work was carried out successfully and competently and I have no complaint over this, but communication would have been welcome, and honestly as when booking the repair, it gives the impression that it would be repaired on my drive. I would suggest that the click mechanic website was clearer and that the garages that 'bid' for the job were clear in that the car would be repaired at a garage - in my case over 15 miles away.
