I was a bit skeptical going online to get a mechanic as it was my first time but fortunately for me, I got click mechanic and they made the whole process really easy for me, the price I got billed was also cheaper than my local mechanic. Roy was very pleasant. He called following my booking and before my appointment to better understand and more importantly question why I thought the work I'd selected needed doing. A clutch replacement on a 17-year Alfa Romeo 147. He was open from the start. Advising he'd never done so on this particular model but after a bit of research was confident to do it. Once on site, he'd stripped everything apart. Clearly he's very knowledgeable. He took the time to talked me through what he was doing and let me see, take pictures and answer questions etc. Important to me, given the age of the car and that I like to tinker about myself but this being well beyond my own ability. He'd identified an issue with the flywheel. This needed changing too. A special type (dual-mass). This would cost more than originally quoted. It made sense to do so and in fairness he wasn't happy to continue without doing so, they work in tandem. I appreciated his openness and integrity. He clearly explained why. He'd also identified further issues once deep in the engine bay. An integral coolant hose that had suffered damage via the gear selector knocking against toe the years (a poor design feature). He carried out a temporary repair on the basis I'd need to get this replaced asap (not part of the quoted work). Once he'd got the flywheel and clutch in, a gearbox leak appeared. He identified the issue straight away. Spoken to the main dealer (special order part from Italy, 2-weeks) but did further research and found a parts specialist (much much cheaper) for next day delivery. Re-booked the work. All replaced and back together. Pleased with the outcome.

Ali came at the pre - arranged time and was responsive to my messages. He was polite and friendly and quietly got on with the job in hand, Saved myself quite a bit of mone which is always a plus. He showed me my old burnt out clutch too which reassured me he had carried out the work specified. Would definitely recommend him and would be happy to use him again.
