I accepted the quote because the mechanic had good reviews. A completely different mechanic turned up! He was 3 hours late, meaning he could not complete the job that day. He said he would be back the next day at 8am. We needed the car the next day and had to borrow someone else’s car. At 8am the next day he text to say he would be there at 12, he then turned up at 10. That was the third time I had to rearrange my day to get back to check the finished job. I missed a client meeting because of this. The work was completed to a good standard but, I was left without the car because of the poor time keeping and had no idea who the guy was carrying out the job or whether he was qualified or insured to work on my families car.
