When putting the request through clickmechanic, I stated that my car was not drivable (due the intermittent starter motor, and not being sure that it would start), and that I wouldn’t pay for recovery. Automatic motors accepted the job, then phoned me the day before, when I repeated the above, they asked me to start the car in the morning before they came to collect it and leave it running on my driveway for the 30+ minutes it would take for them to arrive. I later realised this was illegal and told them I wouldn’t do it. Their other option if my car didn’t start was for me to pay £120 for recovery, which again, I’d already said I would not do. Fortunately my car did start when they arrived. The person collecting my car was due between 0800-1000, but didn’t arrive until after 10am. The job was due to take 5-6 hours. Around 7 hours after my car was collected I had heard nothing, so phoned them at 1730. I had to chase them for an update on the progress and was not kept updated at all by the mechanics. The car was returned over 8 hours after collected. I’d have understood if the job was due to take longer, but an update and explanation would have been nice. The actual work itself has been carried out with no problems, my car now starts every time which is always a bonus, and I don’t seem to have had any issues with the timing belt. My concerns are mostly over the communication or lack thereof.

Clynten the mechanic you put me on to turned up when he said he would , he checked over van and after 10 min he found the problem and a few other things he recommend that should be sorted He new what he was doing. Very profession in his job and communicated the jobs that needs done aswell as showing me Would have no hesitating recommending Clyton to anyone

Ian arrived on time to service my wife's car and she had only positive things to say about his friendly, helpful manner. He carried out the service quickly and cleanly and also offered advice on how to tackle a problem on the car that was not part of the annual service he had come to do. We would definitely use his services again.

Paddy did a great job. He was polite, punctual and worked quickly. I recommend him to everyone.

Never showed up to complete the work 2 days in a row despite assurances they would be available at the time that was arranged. Only updated with regards to what time they would be arriving after multiple attempts to contact them by call/text. Marked the work as completed and invoiced for it despite no work being done whatsoever.

Michal was great. I've given a 5 star for punctuality dispite Michal being delayed at a previous job, he called me and let me know, so cant fault the timing really - I appreciate him coming out to me so late on a Friday. Knowledgeable about the vehicle, his 3 series has the same N47 power unit as my 5. Starter motor switched out and replaced in about 50 minutes, quick, efficient and an all round pleasant chap.

Icon Autos were brilliant. They collected the car exactly when they said would and communication from them was excellent. The work was done to a high standard, full service and MOT, and at a very reasonable rate. Would have no hesitation in using them again. The guy who came to collect the car, and bring it back, was so nice and lovely to chat to. All in all a great experience with Icon Autos. :)
