Ford Transit Alternator replacement

Paid for 2 hours labour and a new alternator for £340 , the mechanic came and done the job in 40 minutes and the £340 was taken from my account. When I looked at the bill it said £220 for the alternator which costs £140 from euro car parts and £120 for the labour. I emailed click mechanic about returning an hours labour that had been over charged and didn't receive an email back. Putting on 50 percent for a part is boarder line taking liberties, so basically they made the job fit the £340 regardless of what it was actually worth. Yes they done the job as you would expect any mechanic that knows what they are doing would. However I wouldn't use them again based on how exspensive they were and not being honest in how much the job actually cost. Read more

The price was established through the ClickMechanic platform, which was accepted and paid in advance. Please note that the labor time and parts pricing are determined by the ClickMechanic booking system rather than by me personally, and my labor earnings for this task were £80. I am disappointed that my service has been described as dishonest, despite the work being completed to a professional standard. Very happy with the work - Karim knows what he's doing, that's for sure! he fitted a new Starter Motor to my car which was a horrible job to do - hardly any room to work under the bonnet but he managed it brilliantly.

Was advised that the electrical sensor connected to the compressor is in poor condition and will need replacing and may have been the issue. The electrical system and connections was checked before booking this expensive repair. 😳 I am happy that the air con is working and been advised that if it fails. I should check that connection.
