The 2 mechanics were polite, and seemed knowledgable. They carried out the work efficiently and tidily and answered any queries we had. Unfortunately although the car worked for a drive around the block after the work was done it failed to get into gear on the Sunday morning. When the mechanics left they said if there were further problems it ‘could only be the master cylinder’ as they replaced the clutch and slave cylinder. Having lost my faith I have had to have the car assessed and fixed by a local garage, at more expense, and am told that the part replaced ( the slave cylinder) by Reading Auto was of inferior quality). The master cylinder was fine but the new slave cylinder needed replacing,again. The report from the local garage states that the part used was known to be an inferior part for Vauxhalls and often fails upon first use.
