I recently used ClickMechanic for a clutch replacement, and while the service ultimately got the job done, there were some issues along the way. Communication & Scheduling: Communication was not as frequent as I would have liked. When I did receive updates, they were insightful, but I was left uncertain at times—especially at the start, when I questioned whether the service was even legitimate. Handing over my car to a mechanic I’d never met was nerve-wracking, and more reassurance from ClickMechanic would have been helpful. The biggest issue came with scheduling. My car was supposed to be picked up on Monday, so I left work early to accommodate this. However, I received a call at the scheduled pickup time (18:00) asking if it could be collected the next day instead. While I agreed, earlier notice would have saved me from unnecessary lost wages. Mechanical Work & Upselling: The mechanic assigned to my job, Patson, was very knowledgeable. He clearly understood what he was doing and explained things well when I had questions. However, my car was checked for additional issues beyond the clutch replacement I requested. While it’s good to know the overall condition of my vehicle, the report made some findings sound critical, when in reality, all used cars have worn parts to some extent. I believe skipping these extra checks would have made the job quicker. That said, I appreciate that Patson didn’t pressure me into additional repairs—he was happy to just replace the clutch as requested. After the repair, the car runs as expected, though the reverse gear sounds a bit off. Overall Verdict: ClickMechanic is a legitimate service, and if you need work done at a fair price with a reasonable turnaround, it’s worth considering. The mechanics available, like Patson, are skilled and professional. However, be mindful of upselling and additional repair recommendations that might not be urgent. Also, better communication would improve the overall experience. ⭐ Rating: 3.5/5 – Good service, skilled mechanics, but communication and scheduling need improvement.
