MINI Mini Countryman Diagnostic Inspection

Waste of my money getting this click mechanic to inspect my vehicle for reason why I cant put my clutch down.
Collin turned up, turned engine on, looked in the engine bay for minutes, sat in the car made a phone call and decided the car needed to be towed back to the garage with an uncertainty what the problem could/will be. I understand the mechanic does not have x-ray vision to see what is inside the gearbox housing but I was not convinced with the 5 minute analysis/judgment he made. the weather: light snow was probably the only reason why he wanted the car towed to an indoor garage (at my cost)

...Ended up pushing the car to a local garage and the mechanic was bang on the money without dismantlement anything, gave me an on the spot quote to fix it.

Hello Shanawaaz,
We're saddened to read your review, but also a little confused.
Our mechanic attended and carried out an inital diagnosis.
His assessment was that there were a number of possible faults and in order to give a complete and accurate diagnosis the car would need to be taken to a garage.
We gave you a price for recovery and further diagnosis costs [which would have been included in the labour of any further repair costs]
We assure you the weather had no bearing on the fact that there was nothing further we could do without the vehicle in a workshop.
You go on to say that you pushed your car to a garage and they were able to give you a diagnosis, seemingly without removing the gearbox.
you don't go on to say whether the vehicle was subsequently repaired but we assure you that any diagnosis given without gearbox removal would only be a best guess, we don't choose to guess, we choose to assess and give an absolutely accurate diagnosis.
We're sorry that our workshop is not nearer to your home address, I'm not sure how we can overcome that, but we are glad to hear that you managed to get your car sorted in the end, in a workshop as suggested.
