I am very pleased with the service provided by Reece. He was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He gave me sound information and advice both before the Pre Purchase Inspection and in the follow up after the Report. Based on the work he did for me, I was able to make a considered, informed and firm decision about the used car purchase. The Report by Reece highlighted issues that I would never have realised as a non-mechanic. On balance, I decided not to go ahead with the purchase. It was a irritating experience not totally the mechanics fault: I was told 2-3 hours to carry out the service and MOT. My car was picked up at 10 and I wasn’t contacted till 3 regarding the work required. 2 hours later then the time discussed. Wasn’t too much of a bother. I wasn’t expecting the amount of work required to be so high to pass the MOT but I understand that’s a surprise that can come with cars. I think this service would work okay if you know there’s nothing wrong with your car. I then wanted the chance to be able to Shop round to ensure I was getting the best value for fix but was then notified it would cost 70 pounds to tow my vehicle back to my house. This is more a clickmechanic fault as it promises free collection and delivery but doesn’t detail if your MOT is expired it can’t be driven on the road back to you. Therefore not free delivery. I was also paired with a garage 50 miles from my house. Using half a tank of petrol overall,I thought the point of this service was a fairly local mechanic with just delivery and collecting being the part of the service. So I coudnt really go and get my car either. I think these are things customers should be aware of before using the service. There is also another “priority” charge if you want the work to done within 2 days of MOT. So after handing my keys over on Thursday. To book a free slot would mean waiting till Sunday otherwise it was another 70 pounds. Glad I had nowhere urgent to be. The work itself is sound, my car is fixed and Reyaz carried out the work proficiently, I got my car back on Monday. I don’t think l would use clickmechanic again due to the hidden fees and tricks that come with it. An irritating experience but not overly the mechanics fault other then the time taken wasn’t as advertised. Again jt was probably due to the garage being so far away.
