This was my first time using the Clickmechanic website which I chose following mainly positive reviews on Trust Pilot. My car was experiencing vibration under breaking which I suspected would be brake discs and / or pads but I’m not a mechanic and booked a diagnostic inspection for £80 to confirm it wasn’t anything else like suspension for example. Plan was to book any follow up work and have £50 refunded from the original diagnostic inspection once the problem had been fixed. If it was brake discs and / or pads, I expected the work could be completed on the driveway with a workshop only being required if the problem needed workshop facilities to resolve. The mechanic didn’t show at the agreed time. I called the mobile phone number provided with the confirmation and the mechanic said he hadn’t received the booking. I then had a conversation with Emily through the chat function on the website who said she would contact the mechanic. The mechanic then called from a different mobile phone number than that provided on the confirmation, said he got delayed by a recovery which had overrun (different reason to the original explanation) and would be with me in 30 minutes. He eventually arrived 2 hours after the allotted time, took a cursory look at the brakes, drove the car up and down the Close and confirmed it was brake pads and discs. Didn’t check anything else. I asked when he could complete the work and was taken aback when he said he wasn’t insured to do the work on the driveway and that I’d need to drive 15 miles to his workshop in Leicester. He had driven to my home in a car not a recovery vehicle. I had to say no to this since I had no way of getting back from Leicester and was uncomfortable (legal?) driving with brakes in this state of disrepair. Overall he was with me for less than 10 minutes for the £80 charged. I don’t blame the mechanic other than for the tardiness but am surprised that a mobile service isn’t as advertised for jobs that could be completed on the driveway Either way I’m disappointed with the outcome and £80 out of pocket.

Friendly mechanic picked the car up and completed the job and delivered back the car working nicely.

A&R were great. Picked up my car from home address and took a video of car condition beforehand. Took away to their local garage a couple hours of miles away. I had booked a brake fluid change and suspension arm replacement. Work was done within a couple hours and car returned to driveway. Very easy system, highly recommend.

Very friendly mechanic, got on with job, didn't take long at all. Russell knew what he was talking about.

Andrei was really thorough and knowledgeable. I’ve never used a pre-purchase service before - so I didn’t know what to expect. But after receiving the report and having a brief chat with andrei - I’m definitely not buying a vehicle again without getting it checked out here - and that was just the basic plan! Real value for money. Thank you. (Saved me from buying a heap)

I will just clarify my review-I booked for a diagnostic inspection and a car won’t start inspection-however the car did start when the mechanic arrived-so that part of the booking should have been refunded! (I booked originally as I was unsure if the car would start in the morning-due to the warning that flagged up on my dash board “no engine restart in 31 miles diesel exhaust fluid malfunction” I have since taken my car to land rover who also did a full diagnostic-and there was actually some faulty wiring and a system update that needs to be done. I’m not arguing the fact that you did the diagnostic and explained to me what you thought the problem was-I’m annoyed that you took payment for part of the job that you didn’t need to do. I had also messaged Andrei privately to ask for a partial refund but have been ignored! Do not book through this website-you have no control of money taken-once it’s on hold-the full amount (if they are not honest) can be claimed by the mechanic! I will also be contacting click mechanic to see what can be done.

Early, polite happy to wait till I was back and still started early. Answered questions and taught me about what they were doing and what to look for

Ferenc and partner were friendly and seemed knowledgeable. The retensioning of the alternator belt stopped the squeaking. They said the belt was in good condition, so did not need replacing. The problem was with the retensioning lever and locking screw. So far the squeaking has stopped, but will do more test drives tonight and feedback to the mechanic.

Great, would use again. Very happy with work done. Made every effort to get my car back for when needed.

Fernec I would recommend. Kept me informed from letting me know when he was picking my car up to dropping off. Rang and explained what needed doing and gave a quote and then did the work. Very friendly would definitely use again

Theuns did a great job in replacing the starter motor on my BMW. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and carried out the work efficiently and to an excellent standard. Would be happy to recommend him as the service he provided was exceptional.
