Paul, from PD Automotive, turned up and quickly got to work. He showed me the parts which he would be replacing, and also showed me the parts that he had removed. He worked diligently and professionally, (he didn`t even stop for a cuppa).
Paul was a very pleasant, ameniable person, one who knows his job. I will have him back again to do more work for me as and when required.

On the plus side, the mechanic (Paul D. ) attended on time. Otherwise, the work was terrible. it was a pre purchase report, which we wanted for peace of mind and because we were 1.5 hours away from the seller, so could not inspect the vehicle ourselves, (i.e. precisely the point of the pre purchase report as advertised by ClickMechanic on their website). In the pre purchase report the engine performance was stated as 'good' and the excess fumes/smoke as 'good'. We purchased the vehicle on this basis, and there were immediate problems with clouds of black smoke from the exhaust when going at 40 mph or more, and no engine power on the hills. The mechanic's first response was to state it was a short road test and the car was operating fine at the time. The car was not driven from the seller's drive between the pre purchase inspection and our collecting it. Accordingly, the pre purchase test was not done properly - the vehicle was not taken above 30 mph, nor could a simple static accelerator test have been done, as this also gives clouds of black smoke at high revs. The mechanic then referred it to ClickMechanic, who stated that there is no warranty - only a report to give 'an honest and true reflection of the state of the vehicle'. We were not expecting a warranty, but were expecting to be told the true state of the vehicle. That has not happened. The mechanic has now stopped responding to emails (hence the low punctuality rating despite attending on time), and the complaints procedure seems to be useless, as ClickMechanic put in their T and C that they are not liable for the work done by the mechanic. We are now £2200 down and have no working vehicle with our own work starting today, and no vehicle to use. This was completely hopeless as a service. I booked in a pre inspection purchase with click mechanic. Paul was very professional, informative and honest. I would highly recommend him for the job.

Great job, brakes pads and discs replaced without a problem and at very short notice.
