Volkswagen Passat Clutch master cylinder replacement

Mechanic replaced part he was asked to, was friendly and worked hard, but didn't take car for a test run.
Therefore didn't discover the problem had not been fixed properly.
When I phoned his boss and told him the problem with the clutch was still there he said he would get back to me, but never did.
