Jon owns and operates SMS Autocare and has been running the business for over 15 years in the Slough area. Prior to setting up SMS Autocare Jon completed his apprenticeship and was then a mobile mechanic for 5 years. The team at SMS Autocare are fully trained and able to deal with all makes and models of cars (including EV and hybrid) and tackle all repairs and MOT's including motor bikes. The team at SMS operate a garage but are fully committed to a collection/drop-off service and have 5 dedicated full-time drivers. For the collection and drop-off facility Jon will contact customers the evening before the booking and inform collection times.

Good morning Mr Gupta,

Please be aware that the prices you are seeing on your invoice are inclusive of VAT. The price for the brake discs and pads can be broken down as 2x brake discs at £43 each, brake pads £31, wear sensor £10, and fitting at £60 (1 hour labour.)
In regards to the Aero wiper blades, these are substantially more expensive than normal wiper blades, we only fit Aero wipers on vehicles that already have them on, replacing like for like. The wipers are £22 each and unlike most garages we do not charge for fitting. All of these prices are plus VAT.
Please also be aware that we pay Click Mechanic out of this cost too, we do not add their charge on to your bill as they provide a fantastic service to us as a garage.

We do however feel that your feedback on our communication, punctuality and quality of workmanship are vastly misquoted and giving us low marks on these areas because you are unhappy with the cost is very unfair.
We provided excellent customer service to you at all times, you were made aware of the cost by phone call and text message 2 hours before agreeing to go ahead with the work that your MOT required and our punctuality and our quality of workmanship is not under question here.
We want all of our customers to be happy with the job we have done for them and be able to drive away knowing their car is safe, reliable and roadworthy, feeling that they have had good customer service and value for money, especially during these difficult times, and it is also very important that our mechanics to feel that they have done a good job at the end of the day. These are a big part of our business values.

BMW X3 Crankshaft pulley replacement

I was given a 2 hour appointment window between 12-2. Didn't get any live updates on the day for a precise time, mechanic arrived within schedule at 1.20pm to change the crankshaft pulley on my X3 in 35C degrees heat on my front drive. No messing about - mechanic took out the broken part, got out a brand new boxed part, fitted it and reattached the pulley belt all in 20 minutes. I took it for a spin round the block before he left - car drives normally again (fingers crossed). Never had my car fixed this fast before. Amazing. Mechanic was honest, said it was a common problem nothing to worry about and didn't try to invent new problems or sell me anything; I think he was too busy to hang around because he quickly got on his phone for his next job.

Jon and his team were very professional and its the little things that made the difference- friendly and helpful communication with Sam, prompt pick up by Jon, an MOT certificate provided in a plastic pouch and overall personable interaction. I had a defective door which I brought to Jon's attention, not expecting it to be fixed and was delighted that when the car was returned this had been addressed as well. Very pleased with the work as well- everything was explained to me prior to going ahead. I used to waste my weekends dropping of the car at a local garage and then picking up- this arrangement is excellent- saves time and hassle- I really appreciate the Click Mechanic business model.
