Thanks for your review.
Unfortunately your problem could only be properly identified by removing the starter motor and clearly that can’t be done in a 40 minute time slot. I spent a considerable amount of time and effort trying to properly establish your problem. You seemed convinced it was the starter motor before I even arrived and was determined to get it changed, in that sense I would agree that getting a diagnostic for you was a waste of money.
It is, by no means certain that the starter motor is the issue and as I explained in my report you must get it properly checked before you buy a new one, you will not be able to just “send it back” (as you said) if it has been fitted and used and then turns out not to be the problem.
I Am concerned you about to waste a substantial amount of money. I must insist that telling you just what you want to hear isn’t the best way forward and would not be a professional diagnostic. You reported several faults including water loss, power loss in 3rd and 4th gear and not starting and I had all that to investigate before I could decipher your problem and all in just 40 mins.

Although charging me £125.00 for him connecting a pipe and using a syringe to refill the clutch salve cylinder using my own brake fluid Was a bit expensive.

Hi Phillip
You booked a diagnostic visit which was £75 from Click Mechanic (I received £43), I attended for that service. I diagnosed your problem and then fixed the issue. I received an extra £35 for my time. specialist tools and 35 years knowledge. I think it’s fair to mention that you had fitted a new master and slave cylinder and was stuck at how to bleed the system up. I’m not entirely sure how much more service I could offer, more than attending for a diagnostic and fixing the problem in the same visit for only £35. I’m sorry you are disappointed with the price but nobody can work for free!
Punctuality: I arrived on time!
Communication: i communicated everything to you including arrival time and when I was on my way!
Quality: I arrived on a diagnostic visit and left you with a fully functional vehicle!
Overall: you were charged £35 for getting you back on the road and without any waiting or the inconvenience and cost of getting your car recovered to a garage! .

Jaguar XE Tyre Pressure Inspection

Wayne was very professional he connected the diagnostic reader to my car and went through the read out for the tyre pressure sensor which said everything was ok which meant there could be an intermittent fault. I then took him on a test drive to see if the fault would return but unfortunately the fault did not show. The read out said my car was running ok so we left it at that. Wayne did say that if the problem return to contact him
