Both the mechanic and the apprentice who turned up to collect the car were polite and helpful. I was really happy with the communication as well. Mechanic clearly knew his stuff. Slight misunderstanding as they took the car away to work on rather than did it on the drive but ultimately it cost me nothing and the work was completed quickly and effectively. Price was incredible. Part alone was less than 50% of the dealer quote and was still a brand i'd heard of. Hopefully it will last.

There was some confusion about collecting the car for repair, but it was quickly resolved with an early phone call and I think it may have been me when I filled out the form.

The work was carried out exactly as required - there was a problem later on which was sorted out as quickly as possible. The communication with me was excellent.

The car now drives like new.

Using the site was new to me, but I will definitely use it again (hopefully not too soon!)

The mechanic replaced the alternator as requested. My issue is originally I was quoted £233 and the final price was almost £100 more. I was also told it could be done on the drive and would take approx 1 hour to fit. The car was taken away for 27 hours . On return my issue wasn't fixed. It appears it was not the alternator at fault. IAlthough no diagnosis was undertaken by the mechanic I have paid out £330 for a part that hasn't fixed the problem. Surely an experrienced mechanic would recognise this before co.pleting the work.

Hello, my names Paul and I’m the gentleman who spoke to you originally to advise you of my eta time, you advised me to ring and deal with your husband if that was ok my me,

I rang and spoke to your husband to was a nice polite fella, I advised him that before I turn up there was a choice of 3 various alternators, all different ampages and does he know which one you have fitted after all YOU had diagnosed this fault already by the AA I was told,

I advised before I turn up the Automatic quote given to you was on the cheapest alternator, the other 2 was more expensive, 1 was £21 plus vat more, however the Most common was £80 plus vat more expensive, however it was impossible to know this without looking at your alternator, and of course I can’t buy £600 worth of alternators to attend,

I asked was it possible to collect your vehicle to find out the ampage and advised it will go into the following day as you’d booked my eta for 2-4pm and we’re 30-40 mins drive from you,

I was told this was fine,
Once collected we informed your husband it was the common alternator and will be approximately £96 more than the automated quote (by the way I don’t give quotes)

I’ll also advise you requested me to Supply and fit alternator (no diagnostics selected) I can only imagine as this costs a little more, and of course you’d had your car diagnosed by the AA beforehand,

So I
Picked up the car as ok’d by your partner
I supply and fitted the alternator as requested by yourself

But I didn’t carry out diagnostics as you’d selected me NOT TO,

Once vehicle was returned back to yourself, the blame somehow was passed over to ourselves ?

Not the AA for diagnosing it wrong,
And not your own fault either, but my fault who clearly checked with you every step of the way,

To receive any less than 5*s I would have been disappointed, but you’ve given me 1*s
even though I respect your disappointed, this really isn’t my fault or my mechanics fault is it?

I’ve advised that we can diagnose the fault for you, but my offer was declined.


I’m sorry but you instructed me to supply and fit a part, I’ve done the job you asked.

So I’d appreciate it if you change the poor review,

I take pride in my reviews and you can clearly see this by my ratings, so again look at it from my point of view.
