Renault Scenic Wheel bearing replacement - front (passenger side)

No, I am not happy. The car was picked up later than the agreed time. the car was not brought back until 6.30pm. When the car was returned rubbish had been left in the passenger well (drinks container) I was charged more than the agreed price of £188.00 plus £70.59 for the additional parts.
Not a happy experience

Hello Thomas, I’m sorry to hear your not happy however I could clearly tell this over the phone call we had when we’d finished the work you requested,
I just have to point out we was scheduled in 10-12 but I rent you early to ask if we could pick the car up a bit later as the part wasn’t in stock as ey and you said that was fine, I believe it was around 13:30 we collected your vehicle?
We was instructed to SUPLY AND FIT PASSENGER FRONT WHEEL BEARING
(You’ve opted out of paying for any diagnostics)
The passenger side was requested by yourself , not diagnosed my me or my staff, by opting Into diagnostics your charges a small fee but you opted out as you believed you knew what was wrong yourself
So we supply and fitted the wheel bearing on the NSF as requested, before we went any further I rang uoubto advised the NSF ABs sensor was completely seized in the hub, if this was to break (likely)!this would be an extra cost but we couldnt progress without taking the abs sensor out
You authorised is to do so, HOWEVER you claimed it had already had a new sensor kit long ago before you bought the car.
(We can tell you that sensor was not new, we have pics) hence it being seized in,
We also had. To wait for delivery of that sensor
Once job was complete we test drove your vehicle and we could hear the OSF bearing was overly noisey
We rang and You sounded very unhappy as I can understand, but this isn’t our fault one bit, intact the car had been mos diagnosed by yourself,
Sometimes a noisey wheel bearing has play in it, others don’t, so it’s not like half way through Wes have known, we just done the job YOU instructed and again as for charging more than the original quote, we asked before we done any work and you authorised.
When we told you about the osf wheel bearing you told me it had had one changed by previous keeper like you had been told the nsf abs had been changed too. unfortunately the osf one is noisey and again the sensor is clearly very old (we have all the pics and sent them you)
So I’m sorry your dis-satisfied but we’re not at fault,
However I will speak to my driver tomorrow about a drinks carton being left on your car, and mention to him in future to remove a bottle asbits not profession at all, this I apologise for.

Really happy with the work carried out by the mechanic. Explained everything and communicated perfectly. Only downside is with Clickmechanic themselves NOT the actual mechanic. My telephone diagnostic said my repair would take 2 hours on my drive. It didn't. The mechanic had to take the car away to his garage to repair as he told me this sort of job isn't doable on the driveway. My scheduled time was between 12-2pm. It finally got picked up at 6pm on Friday (due to bad weather conditions) and then arrived back on Monday afternoon, so I had to cancel my weekend plans. Like i say, not the mechanics fault but Clickmechanics fault for giving me unreliable information.

Despite the anticipated simple job of replacing brake pads turning into an altogether more complicated electrical sensor fault, the mechanic worked through the problem and returned the car fault free at no extra cost.

I dealt mostly with Paul and I cannot praise him and his team high enough, its very easy to give bad reviews when you want to vent but it's important to let people know when the service is this good, from picking the car up to getting it back there was a constant dialogue and they were quick to carry out the work to a high standard, absolutely fantastic from start to finish and I won't hesitate to use them again.
