The mechanic seemed very nice. He attended for just short of an hour completing the full inspection which I must be honest with the amount of things on the list surprised me. Even more surprised that with all the underbody checks it never left the floor. I then received a bill from clickmechanic for 2.5hrs labour and the report. I was a bit concerned that non of the accident damage discussed was on the report. Also it said my cruise control worked ok, odd as not fitted. The mechanic had pointed out pink liquid in the boot which again wasn't mentioned in the report or a gator that was loose which when he showed me I fixed. The report seemed to me to have been just a tick box exercise. Other than the obvious "no spare wheel" etc everything was just rated good, good, good. For a 2017 with 2400 miles, gleeming you would expect the odd excellent. Upon checking my CCTV the road test was for 6 minutes and in that time we had a discussion about did I want to go with him and was actually less than 1 mile! Hardly time to warm up. From what I could see on the CCTV the underbody check for which he got a sheet out to put on the floor lasted for 1.4mins and that included getting the sheet out and putting it away. It also seemed he only checked under front and driver front. I asked why attended for less than 1 HR but charged for 2.5, he said I hadn't allowed time to compose the report......please have you ever been for an MOT and they said £25 for the
MOT and £20 for filling in the check sheet!!! I could go on for much longer but in my opinion this check isn't worth the paper it's written on. Mechanic seemed to have a clever answer for everything so must have been down this road before. Read more

The pre-inspection appears to have been done thoroughly. Faults were picked up from the plug-in diags that I would have expected a main-dealer to have checked when the car was serviced by them prior to putting on the forecourt. Also some paintwork issues were picked up. In the end I decided against the purchase, with the inspection giving more leverage to the uneasy feelings that had crept into the potential purchase via other avenues (i.e. HPI check, etc). Not having the chance to see Midland in action (dealer 100+ miles away) does not allow me to give full marks for quality, but communication via phone, and then the report as promised, could not be faulted.

Visit took 15mins, even though you get charged for 0,9 hours. Sugested that it’s fuel flow (pump or filter needs replacing) as diagnostic wasn’t showing any faults. Another mechanic ruled out fuel pump or anything with fuel flow and his diagnostic showed that one of the sensors is faulty. So it was just waste of time and money.

Midland was very helpful and gave me the correct independent inspection report. I completely trusted and took the correct decision regarding the car.

Saf was excellent. Rang him yesterday after booking pre purch inspection and spoke with him for 20 mins after he completed the inspection. Very nice guy, really helpful and clear advice. Answered all my questions. Couldnt recommend him enough.

The report was detailed enough to help me make a decision. the leak from the turbo could have made this an expensive purchase.

I arranged a pre-purchase inspection not having used ClickMechanic before.
