I ordered Major Service. Highest level I can choose from on ClickMechanic.

I wanted just not reviewing them, but things started piling up.

It started right after they drove off with the car and it just went on and on.

They did not drive the car from my place to their garage. They drove it to unknown location, 6.4 miles away from the garage. The car sat in that location between 10:19-11:35. After that they finally headed to the garage. Instead of under 13 miles journey from my place to the garage and back, they did 21.7 miles.

I do not remember giving permission to use my car for any other purpose than to drive it straight to the garage.

Legal speed limit was exceeded on multiple occasions. I did not checked this properly but it looks like they drove 59.4 mph and by brief check on Google Maps, I can find maximum 50 mph speed limit on that journey.

They of course exceeded 70 mph speed limit on motorway.

When they called around noon, that car is finished, they said that everything on the car is fine.

Only thing they recommended (voice tone sounded that it is more like life and death situation, but that is of course subjective) is change of timing belt for £270. They claimed that car is approaching 66k miles and belt is supposed to be changed at 70k. I politely refused, as I drive very few miles per year and I am unlikely to reach 70k during next 12 months.

After I opened car manual book, I found that timing belt should be changed after 10 years or 100k.

When they came back with the car, I think I felt cigarette smoke inside of the car. Perhaps that is reason why they had window fully open (on 21st December) when they returned the car?

When they were taking the car, I mentioned that I hear water inside. It is really noticeable during braking/acceleration. When they called after finishing the service, they claimed they drained it.

After I drove the car on next day, water noise was still there.

I had broken light bulb on front lights. It is kind of bulb which is impossible to not notice. Of course, it is impossible not to notice only if you bother to check lights during MAYOR SERVICE CHECK.

They returned the car without changing the bulb.

So, they did not drain water, completely missed failed light bulb, but THEY DID NOT MISSED THAT I NEED NEW TIMING BELT FOR £270, EVEN WHEN CAR DROVE 65k AND BELT IS SUPPOSED TO BE CHANGED AFTER 100k. And used my car as rental while probably smoking in it.

Now I am thinking, did they changed spark plugs? Did they even changed oil?

Since they failed with so many so elementary things (missed bulb, not drained water, rental, smoke, wanted change timing belt 70k instead of 100k), I have no choice but to find another mechanic and ask them check completely everything again.

If you do you ever feel shame, just return the money I paid.

Do not contact me back. I repeat, I do not want to hear from this mechanic again regardless of whether you send back a refund.

After having preservations about the garage I currently use and being constantly let down, I decided to give these a go. I’ll be honest I’m not a ‘talking on the phone’ kind of person so getting a price and booking it all online was perfect for me. With plenty of opportunity to read reviews, cancel or change my appointment, I was under no pressure. What good service that you get the mechanics mobile number for piece of mind as well.
The mechanic who turned up couldn’t be friendlier and more helpful. It turned out that I needed my car back a little sooner that expected and he made that happen.
The work was done and my car is great.

It was so convenient that my car was picked up and returned to my work in my working day.
The price was very fair too.
As you can gather, I’m thoroughly satisfied with the great service and feel peace of mind that I finally have a garage that I can trust. Thanks guys!

Omar was probably the best mechanic I have ever worked with. In addition to doing a great job on the car and not trying to upsell his services, he was exceptionally friendly, efficient, accommodating, punctual and communicative. I will not use anyone other than Omar for future services on my car.

My first issue was the mechanic was not able to pick and deliver. I was told he would be able to pick up in the evening and in the evening I called and he cancelled. So I delivered the car the next day morning. Which was fine. I can get over this point too if it was the only point.

My second issue was I was told that the discs were worn to the bare metal and it would need new discs. I asked for the discs and the boxes to be left in the boot so that I can look at them when I collected the car. The boxes or the parts that were removed were not in the car boot. The boxes were with all other boxes and the guy was not able to say with confidence which boxes were mine.
The parts that were removed were in the bin. The guy was not able to show me the pads or the discs. The mechanic said that he didn’t want to dirty my beautiful boot. I have heard this excuse so many times. This point put in to context doesn’t build confidence.

My third issue was the brake pads I gave were not used. The mechanic wanted to use his own pads. He said the pads were for a Passat and not a polo. Which is surprising as I specifically bought pads for a VW polo. I can get over this point too if it was the only point.

I don’t know if the work is good or bad. I assume it was good. Just the manipulation of the outcome left me feeling cheated. I didn’t know if the discs were bare metal or not in the end. Probably the last time I use Clickmechanic or Queensway

hi mr Hasita Subasinghe thank you for the review we need to point out that your appointment was scheduled with us on the Thursday but when you asked if we can do it sooner we arranged to bring the car in sooner to help you out and if possible i might be able to bring in the car for you in the evening but unfortunately as i explained to you we had another issue so we agreed that you can perhaps bring in the car your self you then kindly came in to us the next morning you then suggested to us that you had a set of brake pads in your car we did say we can fit them for you with out any issues but when we had a look the discs were metal to metal and needed changing but the pads you supplied were the incorrect set and we said we can replace with the correct ones and leave the pads you provided in the car so you can return them to your supplier we did not leave the old discs in the car as they were covered in brake dust and iron filings and did not want to cover the boot with dirt the parts were on the outside the office so you can inspect when you arrived Once you had a look if you still wanted them we would have been moor than happy to give them to you but as you did not say any thing we disposed of the old parts. All parts that we fit on a car are fully warrantied for one year the parts you provided were incorrect and we suggest to you to return them to your supplier we believe that they are for a passat because the pads are far to big for your car thank you and regards Read more
