Very reassured to have such an experienced Rover 45 K series technician doing the head gasket etc on my car. His knowledge and experience is very impressive. Knowing the pros and cons of this engine makes the difference between a reliable outcome and a dodgy one. I learnt a lot from James today which will be of great assistance in the future.

James explained the oil was fine.
Ran a diagnostic test. Which confirmed another issue.
He was friendly, seemed knowledgable but no work was carried out today.
I would have preferred being told the costs upfront before proceeding. He was only 30 mins. I did not realise there would be a call out fee.
But, I now know what needs to be done and will get 2 other quotes before proceeding.

£41 for 10 mins work to establish you couldn't test the battery.
£361 is the additional quote to supply a fit a new battery
So £400+ to fit a new battery - what do you think ???????????
The original quote of £44.00 was to check battery a fit a new battery if needed which would be supplied by me.
Click Mechanic terms stated the charge would only be made once I was satisfied. However, the Charge was made without any reference to me.
No wonder click mechanic get your card details up front - another one for rip off Britain.

I was asked to plug in and do a full electrical test,i was never told the camper had no power,you asked me to quote for a replacement battery and its a main dealer part only,the price was given including vat.I fully agree the battery is very expensive but a number of phone calls confirmed its a main dealer supply only.
Click don't operate like the AA or RAC with members paying each year and patrols driving round .
I spent in total 2 hours and £30.00 worth of fuel
the £41.00 also includes me driving 45 mins to you and 45 mins back to base.
if you had the battery as you stated you would have I would have fitted it gladly.
