The mechanic couldn’t complete the work, they tried hard and it wasn’t necessarily their fault but the way they dealt with the repair/situation afterwards was unprofessional and unhelpful. Instead of trying to help me on what my next steps were to repair my car or recommending a garage etc, they kept repetitively asking what I was going to do but also saying how difficult the work is and how no one can get it . The mechanic hadn’t checked the car/the repair prior to starting the appointment and when they left (without giving me any further options, leaving me quite stressed) they charged me £30 I am now in a worse position than before, with more stress, less money and still a repair I need doing. Thanks for your feedback — though I’m disappointed by how the situation has been represented, especially considering the time, effort, and communication involved.

To clarify: this booking involved nearly 2 hours of physical effort attempting to remove a severely over-torqued wheel nut, with 7 out of 8 eventually freed using heat, breaker bar, high-end impact gun, and extended leverage methods. The final nut remained seized even after a 1-metre breaker bar snapped — at that point, continuing would have risked injury or serious damage to your wheel.

This issue wasn’t visible prior to the job and was the result of excessive torque from a previous garage, not any lack of preparation or effort on my part.


As for the charge: we agreed at the time to apply a £25 cancellation-equivalent fee — far less than a standard labour rate — to reflect the time and work already carried out. After platform deductions and a promo code used on your end, my net received was significantly less than even the £25 agreed, despite almost 2 hours on-site and over £100 worth of tool damage, which I hadn’t raised until now.

You were charged a priority fee by ClickMechanic due to the short-notice, next-day nature of the booking. That fee is set by the platform, not by me, and is intended to reflect the urgency and the fact that other bookings are often turned away to accommodate a priority job.

Regarding punctuality and communication, I messaged you the day before and again on the day confirming my ETA, then arrived within the scheduled booking window and within the timeframe I shared while en route. I’m unsure why this was raised as a concern, as updates were provided throughout.

In terms of next steps, I offered several realistic options:
• Return to the garage who previously worked on your suspension (as mentioned by you),
• Try a wheel or tyre specialist, or
• Rebook via ClickMechanic, where another technician could attend with different tools and the issue flagged in advance.

These suggestions were made with your best interest in mind — not to leave you stuck, but to give honest advice under difficult circumstances. I also chose not to apply a labour charge, despite time and cost to myself, out of fairness.

I’m genuinely sorry you felt stressed, but I stand by the professionalism, transparency, and effort I provided throughout the visit.

With respect, this review doesn’t fairly reflect the situation. The job was ultimately incomplete due to reasons entirely beyond my control, despite my best efforts, professional approach, and significant time spent trying to resolve it on the day.

I found Click Mechanic on my Google search, I had never heard of them before. I did some research and found lots of very positive reviews, so decided to give them a go and I’m so glad that I did. The booking process was simple and they managed to find me Adam, who was able to fit in with my date & time slots. Communication was excellent once the job had been picked up, and again, on the day of arrival. As promised, he arrived on time and was very polite & explained what he was going to do. After running the tests he found that a sensor needed replacing on my wheel and that was what was causing the engine lights to come on. Everything was explained to me in great detail. An hour or so after the appointment I received a detailed report of the findings and a quote to get it fixed, with no pressure to use Click Mechanic for the repair.
