No, told my van would cost thousands to repair and not worth it. My van is a 2008 petrol transit. Offered to buy it for £500 there and then.
My uncle who is 73 and an old school mechanic fixed it in 2 hours the next morning, with no new parts or expense.

Hi there, thank you very much for the very low review which I have to say is quite unnecessary. I don’t think you fully understand what you paid for at the time i.e. diagnostic inspection NOT A REPAIR.
I run a full diagnostic inspection on your van whilst you were present which you witnessed over 17 individual fault codes which included PCM fuel pump fuel pump pressure regulator, ABS fault throttle position sensor to name a few when I arrived. The van had an idling issue. You stated that your 73-year-old Uncle who is a mechanic Has changed the throttle itself which was not the problem to start with.
I did advise you of all the faults that was shown on diagnostics in front of you at the time that the vehicle was not financially viable to repair. Given the fact it is over 15 years old has done over 250,000 miles and is in relatively poor condition.
I did, and I quote said to you to fix all these issues show on diagnostics, would cost a lot of money, a new fuel pump alone for a diesel transit is expensive never mind a petrol/LPG transit there was also a PCM communication error which would not reset which is our internal fault with the PCM itself which again is a very expensive item to change not to mention the other problems that would need fixing
I would also like to add that I do not fit, secondhand or knockoff parts to any of my customers vehicle they would be from main dealer only. So yes, that would reflect in the cost. That is the only way I can guarantee absolute quality and assurance that the part works as it should, and if it doesn’t work as it should will be replaced with no further cost to myself all the customer which I’m sure you can understand
But I highly doubt your uncle in the space of two hours has fixed a faulty ECU which needs sophisticated equipment to fix and a fule pump issue with a code reader might I add I highly doubt it but I can guarantee if I was to come back and plug my diagnostics back in every one of those fault code will still be there and everyone of those issues will still remain I guarantee it
as a matter, of fact, I would gladly offer to come back out for free of charge and run another diagnostic test on your vehicle, and if those fault codes have gone, I will refund you the inspection fee you paid personally on the spot I am that confident that your van still has those issues I would actually double your inspection fee cost and refund that to you
