The mechanic was not familiar with hybrid cars and he shouldn’t have taken the booking. There is no outcome of diagnosis, he didn’t complete ordered services and charged me extra for services I didn’t pre-approve. When I called him to inquire, he hanged up call in middle of conversation. I am extremely disappointed.

A fantastic experience. Believe me Im fussy and persistent. Firstly a lovely guy. 2nd collect and delivery of the vehicle is very useful. My story is that my air con was not working. At the VW service I was told the a/c compressor need replacing and a re-gas. The diagnostic tests said so....Hmmmmm. Over £1400!!!!!. I put the job on several internet car repair sites including ClickMechanic and a site recommended by the RAC. It seemed the most professional and simplest to use. I got some estimates. Some where just too low, one or two way over the top and a small handful that were worth investigating. Kyriacos had very good reviews and a good and what I considered a fair price as I'd done my research on line as to how long and what had to be done to change an A/C compressor. So I got a phone call from the garage a day later saying that the compressor was fine but just some gaskets needed replacing....I was really pleased that they had bothered to check thoroughly before dismantling and fitting a new compressor. The repairs were made and the job came in cheaper than Kyriacos quoted on. When he dropped the car home he said....OK, cold air right?...Right. The original a/c compressor was working. So this proved that Lookers VW garage did diagnostics only which only said there was a problem so change everything ...£1400. So what is the point of a huge well equiped garage if they dont investigate the fundamentals before throwing the baby out with the bath water? Diagnostics... I spit in your face and I am going to take issue with VW about this really unprofessional mechanical episode. I fully intend to push this complaint to the end. In the meantime Kyriacos said any problems and we will come back FOC to sort it out. I very much doubt this will be necessary and the invoice I got was far less than the original estimate for changing the compressor. So there is honesty for you.
