Whole experience was fantastic, I find it difficult to trust garages due to past experiences but East Midlands Auto were brilliant, kept me informed throughout the whole process, arrived and delivered when they said they would and at a good price too. Thankyou, will definitely be using them again.

Work was carried out in line with booking request. However our main issue is that we were not advised that our car was to be taken anywhere for work to be completed - location for work was stated as our home; and this showed on the booking confirmation "repair location". As it turned out - our car was driven on an over 80 mile round trip.

We were not given an estimated time of delivery back to us (the car was picked up around 11:30AM) - this caused major issues as not knowing the car was due to be taken anywhere we had not removed our child seat and the car was not delivered back in time for us to pick our child up from nursery.
When we phoned to check the status - we were asked to pay fuel money (which we refused & the garage said they would pick up with Click Mechanic).

On the plus side the garage did call us with some other recommended work and accepted our refusal of that - so the communication on that was appreciated - however does not make up for the complete lack of communication on why/where our car was going to a different location or when it would be returned

After looking into your case we can confirm the following;

-Vehicle was booked in for engine oil / filter replacement along with front pads.
-Booking request (which can be found using the app through which works where booked) 'mobile mechanic or Garage collection & delivery between 10-12am Wednesday January 6th'


Unfortunately, we do not offer 'mobile services' for a number of reasons, however do offer FREE collection & Delivery across the east midlands.

we are extremely sorry to hear of your complaint in this instance, & offer our apologies.

we carried out all requested works to exacting industry set standards within booked slots as requested by yourself. should we have been made aware of needing your child seat we would ensured if possible (Traffic permitting) the vehicle and/or child seat returned to you at your convenience.

Please bare in mind, it is never advised to carry out serving and/or repairs in incorrect settings such a driveways as the vehicle cannot be inspected correctly.

-The mileage incurred was to collect and return the vehicle to and from our repair centre. The vehicle was also fuelled by us as there was insufficient fuel to be able to return the vehicle safely to yourself.

-Once all works are completed and approved for collection / delivery & road tested by one our technicians. The Vehicle Receives a Complimentary wash and the customer is contacted to inform them the vehicle shall be setting off.

The recommended work was advised as a matter of safety as your brake discs required renewal due an urgent matter of safety and is protocol to inform yourself.

I booked an MOT test appointment with ClickMechanic. The mechanic came to the appointment but refused to take the car as it was untaxed. As I found out later, the law does allow you to drive an untaxed car to a pre-booked MOT test. This caused an unnecessary delay and inceonvenience, and I was even charged for the missed appointment.

Hi Angelos,
thank you for taking the time to review us, after reviewing your case i can confirm the following;
-Your vehicle was booked in for an MOT through click mechanic, unfortunately upon collection the vehicle was covered in 'untaxed vehicle notice' blocking firstly blocking the drivers view, this is an offence to remove this if not by the registered keeper. we also where informed the vehicle owner was not in the country at the time of booking.
- unfortunately we where not informed of lack of vehicle tax prior to collection, unlike some garages we do have Trade Plates which allows us to transport vehicles with no road tax.
however without these clearly shown on the exterior of a vehicle by driving it on a public highway can result in the registered keeper incurring fines via ANPR cameras / and or seizure of said vehicle.
collection was refused in this instance, and offer of re-booking with trade plates to minimize the above inconvenience. should we have been informed prior to collection the vehicle would be able to be collected accordingly.

we hope this clears up any confusion and provides clarity on the matter
