My diagnostic appointment with Pit Stop was scheduled between 11-12. Baz phoned to say the mechanic had been delayed and wouldn't be here until after lunch. Finally arrived at 15:45.

The inspection took around fifteen minutes and a suspected faulty alternator was confirmed.

Apologies, you have felt we fell short on our Punctuality on this occasion. Having checked the records in full, call logs and discussing with our team, below are our findings;

Appointment was booked for the 11 to 12 time slot. As per our usual procedure due to past experiences, we call the customer before our arrival to ensure we won't get a no show or a wasted journey, our office team phoned the number provided on the booking at 10:45 (15 mins before the appointment time) when the mechanics were ready to depart, there was no answer or call back. Our office team out of courtesy, phoned again at 11:45 when we managed to get to speak to you and we advised the time slot has now passed due to no communication and we will endeavour to inspect your car same day as soon as we have our technicians available after completing other agreed appointments and we continued to keep you posted on our progress and arrival.


We apologise you have felt you had to give us a 1 star rating on punctuality but our investigation suggests our team went out of the way to fit you in same day to inspect your car despite the time slot being missed due to no communication.

On quality rating of 3, we would welcome your views on what we could have done better quality wise as our technicians completed the job in full as requested and provided you with all the data readings and reasons to believe your Alternator requires changing. Having spoken to the team, they have also advised, they actually went above and beyond, jump started your car which was stranded on the street and drove it up on to your driveway. We would welcome your feedback on what our team could have done better quality wise.

Excellent service. Arranging a pick up time was easy, and they arrived at the agreed time. When they arrived I noticed I had a flat tyre, they kindly offered to fit my spare for me. They were in constant contact keeping me updated on their progress. They replaced my clutch and also repaired my damaged tyre. I would have no hesitation in using The Pit Stop again.

Punctuality was the main problem. An hour late collecting and delivery at 20 45, due to staffing problems, meant that the car was away some 9 hours. I did have to phone them to check collectionand they did ring to tell me of delayed delivery but it meant a whole day and evening spent when a local garage would have taken 3 hours at the most.
I cannot really comment on the quality of the work as I only received an MOT CERTIFICATE. I thought that I might have received an invoice and itemised list of the work done. Time will tell, as they say.

We apologise for falling short on our service on this occasion with punctuality. We accept, a colleagues young child getting hurt who needed to go home, another being sick, Road down the customers house being closed with roadwork causing half hour delay doesn’t exempt us from service delivery. Our Team did the best they could on the day which resulted in them working until 10pm that evening with all the drop offs and appreciative customers with 5* reviews and we thanked them endlessly for their understanding.

Job was booked through ClickMechanic for Major Service and MOT, so all invoices are received through them.
A 44 point checklist was completed on ClickMechanics website post work completion on what was done which is available electronically at ClickMechanic, service light reset carried out, service book stamped with relevant service carried out and MOT certificate provided.

In regards to quality of the work, we would invite any customers to visit our garage and observe the work carried out on their car and parts used.
