Despite the traffic and cold evening, Alex turned up to check out the problem. It didn't take him long either. Thankfully it wasn't as serious as it sounded and the noise was found to be something completely different.

I was very pleased with the response time,and the mechanic did what was requested with regards to the fitting of the glo plugs. However, on inspection of removed glo plugs they were found to be newish. After asking the mechanic to run a diagnostic test I was very disappointed to find that he had forgotten to bring the machine with him. This to me seemed unprofessional that the mechanic was unprepared. My car is still presenting the same fault.

Thanks for your review of Eastlake Garage and our staff. Unfortunately we can can’t carry every piece of equipment in each of our vehicles. You informed the technician who attended that you had already had the vehicle plugged in and diagnosed by another garage. You instructed us to come out and change your glow plugs not carry out a diagnostic test. Our vehicles are loaded each and every day in preparation for the jobs ahead. We have 5 vans and to have £5000 worth of diagnostic equipment in each of them is unrealistic and impractical. Had you of asked for a diagnostic test before changing the glow plugs it would of in fact been a different vehicle and technician that attended your vehicle. Also the technician fitted other new Parts to your vehicle whilst on site at your request for no extra labour charge and with all due respect had you booked us for the correct job in the first place instead of using google I am certain the issue with your vehicle could have been repaired on site with ease Read more

My mechanic did not give me much information and I didn't find him particularly helpful or friendly.

Hi there. I’m sorry to read your review of Eastlake Garage. After speaking to the mechanic that visited you. You were told the faults with your car via a diagnostic readout that you were present for that your vehicles immobiliser was faulty the immobiliser is built into your vehicles ecu. This is a repair that no mobile mechanic in the area could carry out at the roadside. you were told this on site with your vehicle. We recomended an Auto electrician who we use regularly who may have been able to help. We also uploaded pictures of the fault codes to your booking and you were sent these via email. We arrived in the middle of our allocated time also informing you beforehand via text of the eta of your technician. Your reply was that you were going to scrap the vehicle as the estimated costs would have been too high against the value of the car. I’m not sure how much more helpful we could have been in your circumstances as we were instructed to do a diagnostic test which we carried out. Kindest regards Eastlake. Read more
