Avoid Topnotch! Mechanic fitted the wrong part and, while fitting it, damaged the vehicle. When I raised this, he showed no interest in paying for the damage and ignored my follow‑ups. I had to get it repaired elsewhere at my own cost. Based on my experience, stay well clear.

The initial appointment was postponed by a day, which was okay and I appreciated a call to inform me. The chap who turned up for the diagnostics test was polite and helpful and identified the issue - faulty cam shaft censor. He said the boss would be in touch with a quote and appointment time to fix the fault. I didn't hear anything again unfortunately. However, I managed to buy the relevant spare part and replaced the camshaft sensor myself. Nevertheless, the issue with the car remains, so it appears the cam shaft sensor was not necessarily the fault at issue. As a result, I've spent £70 on diagnostics but still don't know what the issue is with the car which remains broken down.

He arrived long after the scheduled time, changed engine oil, oil filter, air filter and said that was it till I asked him whether everything else was okay to which he said "yes". I asked about the brakes, he took a peep under the near-side tyres and quickly responded with yes, front brakes might need to work on, rears okay. He was in a hurry to go for the next job. I was amazed at all the checks listed on the service report as having been done yet I was there!

The mechanic was superb, friendly and explained everything in detail. He checked the battery and use the cables. after a while the car's engine started. Possibly it run out of battery or it was clogged somewhere.

From the first point of contact to delivery of my vehicle after the repairs and MOT, the communication with TopNotch was great. Very happy with the work.

Friendly, informative, diligent - could not have asked for anything more. Highly recommend and will be using them going forward for MOT and servicing.

Bit of a shame, when he got here he was great and identified the problem but he had the wrong part. This was at around 11:30am. He then said he’d be going to find the right water pump part.

He then left and I haven’t heard from him since, I’ve been refunded part of what I paid and charged for my vehicle health check and labour time.

But the job hasn’t been done and I have no updates??

Very well done!! It wasn’t easy to locate and remove the battery. Work was carried out with great professionalism and good enthusiasm. Very high marks !!

Didnt get his name, Was booked from 8-10 pm, but called just after 8 to say if it was ok to come later, Not an issue for me so said yes, work was completed with no fuss and look to be all done to a good standard.
