Additional comments on Topnotch It appears that the quote for additional works was done not in accordance with the rules of Clickmechanic, for the reason of pure personal financial gain. The quote and the money received for the additional work was arranged without the knowledge of Clickmechanic. This explain why topnotch was afraid of letting me have a invoice/receipt for the droplink (additional work). Without the invoice/receipt, there are no proof of any additional work done/part replaced, and the part and labour cost are not covered by warranty. The name of the recipient of the additional payment appeared on credit card statement was not topnotch, but sumup my srilankan home. There was no proof of any payment to topnotch. Sound very dodgy. If topnotch happy to bent the rules (AKA cheat) with Clickmechanic. It is entirely conceivable they cut corners when servicing cars to maximize (their) profit. I have asked topnotch to prove that the droplink has been properly replaced. They have provide no such proof. I am no wiser if the part was actually replaced or not. I still have not received a copy of MOT pass certificate. It is alarming to think what they have done or not done with the MOT testing, servicing and additional work. It is garage like topnotch give the garage business a bad name, with sour taste and foul smell lingering on long after the experience. It is best to stay away from this type of fly by night cowboys. They are now not even responding to Clickmechanic's message. Read more

Russell was friendly and respectful. Carried out the work swiftly with no issues. Communication to inform me about ordered parts was good which also explained the reasonable slight delay in timings. Very happy service! Would recommend.

Topnotch are a bunch of cowboys. My Car went in on the 8th September for a knock sensor which should take about 2 hours they didn’t turn up until 8pm that evening. It should have been between 10-12 when they returned my car the next day it was running on three cylinders the did not put the injection rubber seals back the said the would order new ones from Mazda. But the have taken three weeks so far to resolve this problem. The do not answers the phone. They might aswell not have the number and when they do answer they say they will ring back. But they don’t when you try to ring back just goes to answer phone. I’m not very impressed with clickmechanic who recommends these business you say you vetted these but obviously you don’t. Because after reading the reviews of topnotch all comments were negative they say that when reported back to clickmechanic but you keep on recommending these people I think you don’t follow up these complaints. I think you should be ashamed of yourselves. Would not recommend you too any body because you obviously don’t give a damn about people sign up with you. Read more

We’re sorry you felt this way, unfortunately, as you know we visited you three times for the same job due to a damaged injector rubber seal, it’s very common to wear out with the age as it’s nearly 18-year-old car. We tried to source it from various suppliers unfortunately it’s not one of those parts that are freely available, so we had to order from eBay on the first instant? It was the wrong part that we ordered? We just arrived yesterday. Both of these occasions it costed us money as well, i’m happy to share the tracking details for this if it would help satisfy you.

But unfortunately, what we don’t tolerate any abusive behaviour such as you swearing down the phone to our employees which is the reason why we stopped talking your calls.

Avoid Topnotch! Mechanic fitted the wrong part and, while fitting it, damaged the vehicle. When I raised this, he showed no interest in paying for the damage and ignored my follow‑ups. I had to get it repaired elsewhere at my own cost. Based on my experience, stay well clear.

The initial appointment was postponed by a day, which was okay and I appreciated a call to inform me. The chap who turned up for the diagnostics test was polite and helpful and identified the issue - faulty cam shaft censor. He said the boss would be in touch with a quote and appointment time to fix the fault. I didn't hear anything again unfortunately. However, I managed to buy the relevant spare part and replaced the camshaft sensor myself. Nevertheless, the issue with the car remains, so it appears the cam shaft sensor was not necessarily the fault at issue. As a result, I've spent £70 on diagnostics but still don't know what the issue is with the car which remains broken down.

I’m glad that you found my colleague polite and helpful, we tried to reach out to you the next day unfortunately we couldn’t get through, your timing has an issue(which is related to engine) unfortunately it’s something that we don’t deal with. Please accept my apologies if there was any miscommunication between us.

He arrived long after the scheduled time, changed engine oil, oil filter, air filter and said that was it till I asked him whether everything else was okay to which he said "yes". I asked about the brakes, he took a peep under the near-side tyres and quickly responded with yes, front brakes might need to work on, rears okay. He was in a hurry to go for the next job. I was amazed at all the checks listed on the service report as having been done yet I was there!

The mechanic was superb, friendly and explained everything in detail. He checked the battery and use the cables. after a while the car's engine started. Possibly it run out of battery or it was clogged somewhere.
