Sorry you've got an OBD-II trouble code, hopefully we can help!

In most cases, an OBD-II trouble code can be caused by a number of different things. For example, if you’ve got a P0420 Error Code, this means that the "Catalyst System Efficiency Is Below Threshold", but this could be caused by damage to the sensor, a leaking exhaust manifold, oil contamination or a number of other issues.

As such, it’s necessary for a mechanic to come out and diagnose what exactly the cause of the problem is. You can let the mechanic know the OBD-II code in advance by entering it the additional notes section when you’re placing your booking.

Often they will be able to fix the problem there and then, and the work will be included in the Diagnostic Inspection. However if there is more extensive work to be carried out and/or parts need to be ordered, your mechanic will provide you with a quote for the additional work, which you are free to accept or reject this as you please.
