I would never use click mechanic ever again. It was used as a trusted site for my elderly grandfather as his having issues with his car but it over 100miles from me.

The mechanic that arrived was less than 15mins mostly talking to my grandfather then depressed the clutch and said it’s not what he booked no clutch cable I needed and suggested another fault. He then left as we received a bill for £92 for 15mins of no work.

The support team were very helpful in communicating with the concerns I had and finally reduced the bill to £40 however I feel this is still unjust as no work has been done.


I used this platform as a trusted site yet he was still attempted to be ripped off by a mechanic very poor and upset by the situation

dear mr BEN
i have accepted a job number 10216064 on 21 spet 2022 at evening time the job description was saying that the vehicle need clutch cable to be changed on saturday 24 sept WITH PRICE TAG OF 140 £ so the next morning i have called eurocarpart for parts and availability ( nowadays their r shortage of parts and i wanted to be in the safe side and have everything ready for the job ) which they told me they do have one available so I went for part collection and considering the traffic in tunbridge wells it took me 25 minutes to get to euro car-parts . after picking up the part at 12:49 pm i have contacted ur grandfather for confirmation during the conversation i understood that the gentleman is a-bit nerves and he told me that he want to go on long journey next week so he didn’t want the car to break down on hem .
I have assured hem that not to worry i have the parts and if he want me to come now i will cancel my jobs and i will attend to his vehicle first and he told would their be any extra charges i said no it will be the same charge which clickmechanic have quoted you then he was very happy for me to attend to his vehicle first ( WHAT GREAT REGERT ) anyway from euro car part it took me 35 minute to reach to ur grandad house once i have arrive i have introduced my self and ask the reason why he wants to change the clutch cable which the gentleman responded by saying that about 4month ago he pressed the clutch and paddle stuck down and then he pressed it again and the paddle returned to its original place . after investigation of the condition of the clutch paddle , clutch cable i could see the clutch lever movement is slightly sticky so their-for the problem leis in the movement of the thrust bearing over the shaft which means the clutch need to be replaced and their is nothing wrong with the clutch cable and the cable is in quite good condition and working 100% so their is no need to be replaced or otherwise the customer wants to replace it just because he fancy another clutch cable so i have given my professional and honest opinion to ur grandad . so i have explain it to ur grandfather very politely and professionally manner and i also went throw and checked and report to ur grandad about the condition of all for tyre , brake , brake fluid , engine oil anti freeze and so on and I also told hem what to change then he ask me about the price of changing the clutch which i told hem that it could cost hem something between 200£ to 400£ depend what sort of Quilty clutch he want which he said that its not worth spending that much money on the car (fare enough his choice) i was with ur grandad for approx for 20 mint. after completing the task i told ur grandfather goodby and wished hem safe trap and i went back to eurocarpart to return the part which it took me 35 minute .

in communication you have given me 1 stare . is this because i contacted ur grandfather too early and i supposed to called hem when i was in my way not to give hem enough time and just come out of blue and say hi I’m here to fix ur car ?
in punctuality u have given 1 star so is it because i have attended to early and felt sorry for the gentleman the way he was nervous on the phone for his regarding the condition of his vehicle and i didn’t wanted hem to count the days and hours for the appointment and me to arrive ( I have my own elders parent and I know how nerves the can be for matters like this) ?
again in quality you have given me 1 stare is it because i diagnosed the vehicle 100% accurately and avoided unnecessary expenditure and expressed my honest opinion and didn’t just curried on by replacing the part that didn’t need to replace so you wanted me to acted like a cowboy and not like a professional mechanic .

so as soon as left ur granddad place someone either you mr BEN or ur grandad cancelled the job which I have already completed and said mechanic not needed ( sounds very daggy to me ) obviously trying to dodge the bill for the diagnostic .
mr BEN ! when u say the work hasn’t been done . so u wanted me t do the job which was booked at the price of 140£ and didn’t needed to be replace in the first place and let clickmechanic charge you for something that it didn't need replacing in the first place . which later you could sue me or click mechanic for it .
mr BEN when u say that i have spent 15 mint minute in this job don’t u think that i have spent 20 traveling to pick the part 35 minutE to ur grandad and 35 or 40 mint returning the parts that ur grandads car didn’t need . dont u think this is part of the same job ? or u think that somehow i magically appeared in front of ur grandad car extracted the part from my body and then after finding out that u or ur grandad booked the wrong fault then u wanted me to shave it back in body and disappear from their like GENIE . in total i have spent 110 minute completing job number 10216064 which according to the clickmechanic price this job should have been 92£ which from this 92£ I had to pay 25% clickmechanic fees and 20% vat which mean i would have received 55£ me working 1 hour and 55 minute that would have been almost 27.5£/h
mr BEN even then u wasn’t happy and complain till the clickmechanic reduced it 40£ which again i need to pay 25% click mechanic fee and also 20% tax on this which i will received 40-25%-20% =24 and that 24£ divided by 2 hours work which is 12£ /h . Do u think I’m a pizza delivery guy ? Will anyway even ur still not happy and you wanted me to do u a free diagnostic .
so mr BEN DO YOU THINK IM A CHARITY DOING FREE HAND OUT . Well when u book through clickmechanic u will receive a premium service to ur doorstep which you have . so if you looking for free handout please visit ur local dealer not us .

when u say that the mechanic tried to ripped off my grandad DON’T YOU THINK THAT I HAVE SAVED UR GRANDDAD 100£ BY NOT REPLACING ABSOLUTELY 100% WORKING PART or you don’t have the ability to analyse it .
ohh will mr BEN the reason that i have joined clickmechanic was that i couldn’t deal with scammers so i said to my self i better pay 25% to click mechanic for each job and they can take care these kind if scammer and doggy people but what misunderstanding .
ohh by the way let me tell you that click mechancic is the one that set the prices and take the money then after they dedicated their fees then they pay me .
