First of all, Gary was very knowledgeable on cars. He helped me on a premium pre-purchase inspection on a 2002 Honda S2000. The car looked and sounded amazing but actually there was some major issue in the Engine and Gary was able to spot it out straight away. It was the problem regarding the head gasket causing the engine overheating at high rpm and he was able to spot that out by just looking into the over pressured coolant leakage through the radiator cap and the unusual coolant level in the header tank. Afterwards, Gary gave me the recommendation of not buying the car or unless cut the price down for £1500-2000 for repairing.

I would highly recommend Gary if you are not extremely knowledgeable on cars especially of a certain age of registration because Gary is very experience in a wide range (year and brand) of cars. He is also very patience and he will talk you through the problem thoroughly and the risk of buying a defected car. He also does not hold back in giving negative comments on car if needed, which is what we are looking for on Clickmechanics to find someone independent with no conflict of interest to inspect. All I can say is everyone needs a Gary!

After seeing the car I wanted online, I was reluctant to travel 3 hours only to have a wasted journey so booked Gary through ‘Click Mechanic’ to do the top level pre-purchase inspection. Within a couple of hours, I had an inspection booked for the following day.

I had never used this service before so was a bit apprehensive but Gary was friendly, knowledgable and easy to get along with, he put me at ease and I immediately knew that he was the man for the job.

Gary did a very detailed inspection on the car, pointed out a couple of minor issues and had the garage agree that they would resolve these issues before I went through with the purchase. He even got the garage to agree to put 2 new tyres on which were legal, but barely. What a superstar! He doesn’t miss a thing.
