Volkswagen Golf Timing belt replacement

The work requested to be done as per Booking ref 8830492 was carried out as specified.
Since this work was done the starter motor is malfunctioning and there is a noise which sounds like the Bendix is jamming.
I have asked the mechanic whether the noise (which i have sent to him) is related to the work previously completed.
Unfortunately the only response I have had from him is a sarcastic 'Hullo' or ' how are you' clearly this will not assist me with my problem and it appears that he has something to hide.

Hi Craig the timing belt has nothing to do with your starter motor it’s on the complete opposite side of the vehicle we as a representable garage have nothing to hide we are sorry you seem to be having these difficulties sorry for the inconvenience this job was completed over 1 month ago and being the year/age of the vehicle these things can fault anytime we hope you understand thanks W&M motors
