Adrian was very friendly and informative, and booked me a follow-up appointment less than a week after the first appointment to diagnose the problem, so everything was fixed super quickly. He replaced the alternator, alternator belt, and battery (in the rain!), and kept me informed throughout the process.

Adrian was friendly and knowledgable. Discussed and clarified scope of work in advance of appointment to ensure no hidden surprises. Missed his proposed time slot due to delays on his previous job but kept me updated on when he would be arriving and this was not a problem for me. Carried out work efficiently and tidied up before leaving.

Volkswagen Golf Car Won't Start Inspection

Adrian correctly diagnosed a problem with the ECU but focused much too much on the worst case scenario of a £2,000 repair or car right off which gave us a sleepless night. In fairness he did say it could be something simple like an earth. The day after my Dad correctly diagnosed and fixed the problem in 5 minutes and it started instantly with no problems whatsoever (and he’s not a car mechanic). It was the immobiliser.
Reply from Adrian:
I gave you all the reasons which could lead to this scenario. Best case to worst case. It’s unusual that the immobiliser would react in this way and cause the ecu, clocks, windows etc to not work or respond to either manual use or by my computer which I was individually sending power to program. Even tried applying additional power through my van to bypass immobiliser. All faults was linking to a multiple comms communication failures. Happy to send over the diagnostic fault sheet. I’d still recommend an auto electrician does look at a dodgy Earth as I still think there is an underlying issue.

Water pump hose damaged. Taken apart and reseated. Advised if leak continues to replace pipe.
