Ford Focus Diesel particulate filter (DPF) physical clean and regeneration

I needed my DPF filter doing on my car and had various quotes. Just to diagnose the fault I was being asked for £125 and then anything from another £475 to £1000 to cure the fault! I found Click Mechanic. I was very wary at first as I had to agree for Click Mechanic to hold the fee £217.00 through the bank with my card details. Also a stranger/mechanic would pick up my car and bring it back to me after the repair. The mechanic came at the agreed pick up time and took the car away. He called me from the garage to give me the diagnosed fault. I was a bit on edge as I had no idea where my car was. A few of hours later the mechanic called to say he was on his way back. I have to say the mechanic was helpful and friendly. After logging back onto Click Mechanic my invoice was there with photos of the work being carried out. Hi Shallot.
Thank you for your feedback and allow me to clarify for you:
You booked a DPF Physical Clean & Regeneration.
The price you were quoted was exactly the same price if you brought the car to us, or if we came to you.....
As there were over 10 fault codes recorded by your vehicles ECU and a severe Oil Leak / Intake System Leak it was impossible to conduct the DPF Service Interval.
I advised that we carry out a Plug in Diagnostics & Fault Code Reset at a cost of approximately £40 (usual price is £69.71) and further advised that you get back in touch, once the Engine Warning Light is on, in order to proceed further as there is additional work required BEFORE the DPF Interval can be safely conducted.
You agreed to do just that, so that is exactly what you were charged for; Plug in Diagnostics & Fault Code Reset.
No Call Out Fee was applied, it doesn't state Call Out Fee anywhere on your Invoice.
You gave 4 out of 5 for Punctuality, yet I arrived 30 minutes BEFORE your appointed slot.
You gave 4 out of 5 for Communication, yet we spoke over the phone multiple times and I asked if you understood everything that was being explained to you when I arrived and conducted the Inspection of your vehicle.
You gave 3 out of 5 for Quality but your vehicles Engine is in such a poor state that there is several hours of labour required to get it remotely close to where it needs to be in order to carry out the DPF Interval / get the Engine to run right.
I simply could not do any more at the time than what I have done for you already.
