Marathon Motors became Ltd in July 2017 and Aston Clarke joined the business from a main dealer background and become a partner in the business to take it to the next level. Marathon Motors now boasts a 8 ramp workshop catering for all makes/models & also class 4, 5 Light and 7 MOT's. The team will make that even bigger in 2018. Whilst we carry out servicing and repairs to all makes/models we do specialise in 3 top brands: Audi, BMW and Mercedes. Can't get to the garage? Excellent service. My car picked up from my home, repairs completed as quoted and car returned on time. A highly professional team who gave good advice. Made some helpful additional recommendations but with no pressure to buy. Would certainly recommend this team to others.

Unhappy with this mechanic for not diagnosing the problem (auxiliary belt area squealing noise), spending no more than 5 minutes without any tools but a small torch then recommending i change parts whilst not knowing what the problem is.... Undiagnosed yet i was charged and back to square one.

I came out to investigate a noise from under the bonnet as per customer instruction. When arriving at the customers house to inspect the vehicle, the first thing I spotted was that the Fan belt had already been replaced at 40,000 miles (which is excessively early) and the Fan belt and pulleys were saturated in WD40. The customer was asked why there was WD40 on the belt and pulley to which he admitted to using it to stop the noise indicating to us that there was an underlying issue with the vehicle. In order to investigate this fully, the customer was advised that the car would need to be taken away and put onto a ramp to investigate further the next morning, and was advised that this would be at no additional cost. The customer was further advised we would strip down all parts necessary to get a complete picture of the repair required and give a full quote on cost before repair. The customer advised that he would like to go ahead and have the issue with the vehicle investigated agreeing that we would collect the vehicle the next morning to investigate. The customer was contacted several times on 30th July to give a rough quote on costs before collecting the vehicle as agreed but the customer did not pick up or return any messages left on his mobile. We have not had any further contact from the customer until now.

I am a trained Audi technician and through years of experience and know that just replacing the fan belt is not a permanent fix and would not have rectified this issue.
Marathon Motors prides its self in being transparent and honest with its customers and I feel that this is what we did here. The customer was advised and given the options and decided what he wanted to do. An unprofessional mechanic would have replaced the belt not rectifying the problem and left the customer eventually breaking down.

I provided my service book
Last 5 years brake fluid has not been replaced.
Should have replaced it by looking at the service book history.

I paid for full service
I feel no difference on my car when driving.

Normally it becomes smoother to drive.

Gears changing is still rough, normally becomes smoother after oiling & servicing.

Told me that one coil spring fractured and another one corroded. I believed it as I had no choice. But was it really???
MOT got done from next door neighbor.
Proper business deals in between them.

Will not use ClickMechanic again & will not recommend anyone.

We are very shocked to read this review after the conversations we have had while your car was with us. There must of been a communication issue because when we went to your work place on time and then we called you several times and had to wait for you 15-20 mins to pick up your car, We asked you if you had any issues with your car and you told us there was a brake light bulb out and you had problems with you jet washer both items we fixed for free so they would not fail on the MOT. The only other thing you told us was you have just bought the car. We asked you about the air temperature sensor that you asked to be replaced as well because they are very rare to brake down and are you certain that you want it replaced. After a few question we found out that it is your air conditioning was not working and we adjusted the price accordingly.
When we went through the schedule of the service it clearly stated what we are doing and there was no mention of brake fluid change.
On the instruction of the service you have asked for air filter and oil and oil filter service and the full check list. When carrying out the service we check the brake fluid with a brake fluid tester and it tells us the boil point of the fluid and is well with in it specification so i told you to do it on your next service and to save you money. There was no mention of gear change fault and the gearbox level is fine and changing the engine oil and air filter will not solve that and we found no problem with gear change.

Unfortunately we do not have a MOT station on site at the moment we are in the process and it can take up to 6 months. So we do sublet out are MOT's and they are governed by the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency.
In the last statement that you made we take that very seriously.
The car had failed on one rear coil spring and there was a advisory on the other rear spring for corrosion and the other advisory was for a tyre. I did explain that it only failed on the one spring and it was best to do both as the other spring was a advisory for corrosion. We also advised to do the tyre.
We invite you to get a independent inspector or to contact the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency if you feel that there is any thing out of place.
We are holding on to your broken corroded and worn parts for 120 days that will
give you plenty of time to get them inspected.
When we take a car for MOT and it fails we have to take the car back to get retested it is not a quick and easy process for a collection and deliver service carry out any failure work to get the car back to the customer in traffic before they leave work.
We carried out a full service, MOT, Air con service, Replace both rear coil springs, replaced 1 x Tyre and replaced brake bulb and unblocked jet washer.
When we brought the car back to you we went through the complete list of work done to your car.
