Ed Holt was brilliant. Intelligent and very knowledgeable about the process and pitfalls of buying a used car. He is a superb diagnostic mechanic and is courteous, punctual, very pleasant to speak to, professional to a fault, and kept me up to date at every step of the process.

He saved me from buying a good looking car which I had investigated (full history by Motorcheck - also recommended and inexpensive). Ed's report showed the car to be well dodgy - engine camshaft, inept respray, possible disguised repairs, loose exhaust, corrosion on drivetrain, multiple ECM faults and several faults deleted by previous owner, etc. ). Edward was a very good mechanic to communicate with. He made the process very easy and was super helpful at providing a detailed service as well.

Edward looked over the car over a period of hours and has produced one of the most comprehensive reports I have seen in a long time. The points he has raised would have been largely missed by a non professional and it will give me the opportunity to either negotiate to have all the identified faults rectified or negotiate a competitive price to allow me to correct them myself. All in all a brilliant job.

Edd was above and beyond. Can not recommend him enough! I was in a tight spot, needing a late night home visit pre-purchase inspection on a car, otherwise the deal was going to fall through.

He got in touch and was happy to help, and didn't grumble – even though I asked him to do the job at 8pm at night. He was punctual, super polite, knowledgable, and pro active.

He was friendly and knowledgeable but for the price paid I don't think it was worth it. Didn't do anything wrong just the bare minimum. Tyres were not roadworthy fair enough but van was in a private land with concrete (farm) so could have at least done a bit more.
