Mechanic called soon after booking and discussed the issue. Mechanic arrived the following day slightly before allotted time slot, not a problem. Mechanic immediately identified the issue with a burnt out light plug and bulb holder. Stated that he couldn’t do anything other than tape the electrical connector up to stop it being used. Mechanic was with us about 10 minutes. Garage later called back stating they could do the repair at a later date after ordering parts and would cost about £200-300! We declined the repair and I have bought the parts myself for £50. I now have a bill for £108 for the callout and 10 minutes work!.

This job was originally booked as a full light assembly replacement, which is a significantly more expensive repair. However, upon inspection, our mechanic correctly identified that the issue was not the full assembly, but a melted bulb holder and wiring connector (socket/loom).
This accurate diagnosis meant that a full replacement was unnecessary, saving you a considerable amount of money.
Following the diagnosis:
We advised the correct repair required
We contacted BMW to obtain pricing for the correct parts (bulb holder and electrical connector)
We provided a quote based on manufacturer-standard parts, which are required to offer our 12-month warranty
As a professional repairer, we are unable to use customer-supplied or non-approved parts, as this would invalidate warranty and does not meet our quality standards.
The booking you paid for was a diagnostic inspection, and this was completed successfully:
Fault identified quickly and accurately
Incorrect initial repair avoided
Correct repair path provided
While the on-site time was short, this reflects efficient diagnosis, not lack of service. The value of the visit lies in preventing unnecessary and costly work.
We respect your decision to source parts independently, but the service delivered was fully in line with the booking and carried out professionally.

Service and MOT carried out ok, although service wasn't done as agreed on the Saturday, as he failed to turn up. I had to then drop the car off on the Tuesday, at which time the service and MOT were completed.
I had to constantly chase for updates, then when they drove my car back to me, my gearbox went! Low mileage car. Shouldn't have happened. Took a further week to get resolved, repaired and ready for collection, again, with me constantly chasing for updates, not having calls answered, or messages replied to. Communication was very poor, knowledge wasn't as great as they said, had to get information from third parties used.
Sorry to say, but won't be using them again.

We would also like to clarify that MOT tests must legally be carried out at an authorised testing station, which is why the vehicle needed to be brought to the site for completion.
Regarding the gearbox issue, we understand your concern. While this was not related to the original service or MOT, we still took steps to assist in resolving the matter and ensured the vehicle was repaired and returned to you.
During the process, we made every effort to support you, including providing a complimentary loan vehicle for over a week to minimise disruption and offering flexible payment options due to your circumstances.
We acknowledge that communication could have been better at times and are actively improving this to ensure a smoother experience for our customers.
