Hamza & Ali were amazing, lots of communication before arrival and even came early. Came and sorted in 30 mins and very good job - new breaks on and he shown me the job before putting wheels back on and also sending me a video. Very happy and trustworthy!

MINI Mini Premium Pre-purchase Inspection

I paid £200 for a pre-purchase inspection and was told the car had no issues. Within a week of owning it, the engine management light came on. The sunroof doesn’t work. Multiple other faults have now been identified by my local garage — resulting in a repair bill of over £1,500.

So what exactly did I pay £200 for?

A pre-purchase inspection is supposed to protect buyers from expensive surprises. Instead, I was given completely false reassurance and have been left massively out of pocket. The issues found were not minor cosmetic niggles — they are faults that any competent inspection should have picked up.


To make matters worse, when I contacted them about this, they flatly refused to offer any refund or accept any responsibility.

Charging £200 for what appears to have been a cursory glance at the vehicle is unacceptable. If you’re relying on them to properly assess a car before purchase, I strongly suggest you reconsider.

Incredibly disappointed — both in the quality of the inspection and the total lack of accountability afterwards.

To clarify for anyone reading, this booking was for a Premium Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI) carried out on 07/02/2026. At the time of inspection, there were no warning lights present, no fault codes stored or pending on diagnostic scan, no petrol smell detected, and no visible oil leaks identified. The vehicle was also road tested and no issues of the nature later described were evident during the assessment.

A pre-purchase inspection reflects the vehicle’s condition at the specific time it is inspected. It is not a mechanical strip-down, dismantling process, or warranty against faults developing afterwards.
Some issues — particularly intermittent electrical faults or components that fail later — may not be active or detectable at the time of inspection.

The matter was formally reviewed through ClickMechanic’s resolution process, and based on the evidence from both sides, the claim was not upheld.

We always carry out inspections professionally and in line with the agreed scope. We remain committed to providing thorough and honest assessments for every customer.
