Sheren is an honest and brilliant mechanic, which in my opinion is hard to find these days. I had an aged car and the ignition coil boot had broken off, making the spark plug replacement very difficult. He went the extra mile to make sure the job gets done. Thank you Sheren!

Sheran was great. Following the quote, he took the time to understand the repair and what I knew and provided suggestions on what needed to be done. He was very knowledgeable and helped me get the right repair, as I had been misdiagnosed by another garage.
Very friendly and did a great job! Glad I found him through Clickmechanic and will be using this site going forward.

It's my first time to use clickmechanic and this mechanic, but it was not a good experience.
I booked a work to replace the car brake disks and pads on the clickmechanic website and given the time slot 8-10am for the work. I thought the mechanic will arrive at 8am and complete the work by 10. I waited long time but he didn't appear. I sent a message to ask rough arrival time at 8:43am, but there was no reply. I had to call his mobile at about 9:30am to ask when he will come and he said will be my home soon. Finally, he arrived a few minutes before 10am. Later on, when I complained about the time, he argued that the time slot is arrival time but not working time.
I didn't mind much about the late honestly when he arrived. To be nice, I provided water, coffee and biscuit as I trusted him and wish everything smooth. Actually, I might give him a five star if something didn't happen later.
During the work, he told me the hand brake on the left wheel was stuck and it took him some time to take it out and need more labour. I thanked him for the extra effort. I thought that would be small extra charge that won't be a big deal, but I didn't realise that's trap as he didn't tell me how much is the extra cost. In the evening, when I check email from ClickMechanic, I found I was charged nearly £100 more than the agreed price which was £452.60. At that time, I found I was cheated. The agreed price £452.60 includes all parts and labour as it's clarified on the ClickMechanic website. Taking handbrake off should be part of the labour, thus should be already covered by the agreed price. However, the mechanic cheated me as some extra labour and charged me nearly £100 more!
I have raised this issue to ClickMechanic to resolve. The key point is, once the quote price is agreed, the payment should be the same as the agreed price. If there are some change about the price, the customer needs to be informed of the new price and agree, then the payment be collected. However, I wasn't informed about the extra charge, but the payment had be already collected. That means, the mechanic is able to collect as much as he likes without customer agreement!!! I would say it's a huge problem of the system or platform. Before customers input card details, we are told we won't be charged a penny before work completes. However, we are not told that we could be charged any amount after work without agreement!!!
How could I trust such platform and mechanic any more? I leant a lesson I will never input my card details without knowing how much will be charged.
Thank you for reading my story and hope it helps.

Reply from Sheren:
Dear Customer,
Thank you for your detailed feedback. I'm sorry to hear that your experience with ClickMechanic and my service didn’t meet your expectations.
Firstly, I’d like to clarify the issue regarding the time slot. As per ClickMechanic's standard process, the 8–10am window is the arrival time slot, not the time by which the job will be completed. While I arrived just before 10am—within the agreed timeframe—I understand you were expecting a prompt update. Since I am often either driving between ClickMechanic jobs or actively working on vehicles, I’m not always able to reply to messages straight away.
For safety and practical reasons, I typically respond to phone calls rather than texts during the working day. That’s why I was only able to answer your call around 9:30am and confirm my arrival, which was still within the allocated 8–10am time slot..
Regarding the additional charge, I’d like to explain the situation more clearly. While replacing the brake discs and pads, I encountered a complication with the left-handbrake shoes, which were stuck inside the brake disc due to uneven wear. Removing them was not straightforward — it required careful handling and the use of specialist tools to avoid damage to the handbrake shoes, the drum mechanism, or any associated components. This kind of issue goes beyond standard brake pad/disc replacement and demands extra time, expertise, and labour, which is why an additional charge was added.
During the job, I explained the issue to you and showed you the condition of the parts. You acknowledged the need for extra work and did not raise any questions or objections about additional costs at that time. In fact, you stated that if the job was done properly, that would be fine. Based on this understanding, I proceeded with the necessary work and included the charge accordingly.
Lastly, I want to reassure you that the job was completed with genuine care and professionalism. In many garages, this situation could have resulted in higher charges and possibly damaged parts needing replacement. Instead, I was able to complete the work without causing any damage or recommending unnecessary part replacements — ultimately saving you from further costs.
I understand your frustration and appreciate your feedback. I hope this provides some context and helps clarify that the additional charge was based on actual extra work required to resolve an unforeseen issue, not an attempt to inflate the price unfairly.
Best regards,
Sheran
