He turned up, nice enough tried to do the job didn't exactly go according to plan I guess would be the best way of putting it.

Hi Huw, I’m sorry that the job didn’t go as planned. It’s always difficult when things aren’t as they should be (in this case the carrier bolts having been thread locked with a compound that prevents removal. THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN) When encountering something like this it’s difficult, as a mechanic, you want to help the customer as much as possible but you’re faced with something that has previously been assembled incorrectly. It’s a difficult choice, try and help or walk away. I tried very hard to help. You’ll note I spent 3.5 hours on one side of the car this would normally have taken 45 minutes. Having run out of time I returned on the weekend to complete the job. All of this extra time was not charged, I acted in good faith with the intention of trying to get you out of a tough situation that was not of my making.
