my mechanic spent a considerable time with his scanners trying to find the fault but to no avail. Very disappointed that he could not find the cause of the problem and I am no further forward than before I hired ClickMechanic and £97.00 poorer.

Hi Jonathan. I must say I’m surprised and disappointed with the negative review. I arrived as specified between 11.30 and 12.00 (due to the nature of mobile work it is always a time window and not an exact time, this is clearly specified) Below is what I put on the report. Not only did I write the issue down, I explained and showed you the live data as it was happening. My diagnosis was pretty clear. Once I explained it you said you were selling the car and agreed it wasn’t worth spending the money to get it fixed. You explained it had a new battery, this hadn’t been fitted correctly but I rectified that for you.
You also explained it had a new alternator. My conclusion after discussion was either faulty wiring or a faulty alternator. Both of which you decided weren’t economical to look at repairing. You paid ClickMechanic for a diagnostic check and decided against further repairs as you were selling the vehicle due to lack of use. I’m genuinely sorry it wasn’t a simple fix as I would gladly have done that for you even though that’s not what you paid for. In fact I did carry out a lot of work that would not have been included in a diagnostic check.
Faults Identified
Battery earth lead not fitted correctly
* P0A1A-98 — Intelligent Alternator Module Overtemperature On the Fiat 500L this usually points to a problem with:
* the alternator
* the battery sensor/intelligent charging system
* poor wiring/earth connection
* or sometimes the battery itself causing the alternator to overwork.
The “98” suffix means the module has detected an over-temperature condition.

Beautiful service , he was punctual , quick and honest about the work needed. I booked for my brakes and brake disks to be replaced , he recognised that the disks were not in bad shape and wouldn't need replacement. Will definitely keep him in mind if any jobs needs to be done on my car
