Hyundai Santa Fe Premium Pre-purchase Inspection

I paid for a top level pre purchase inspection that carried out on my vehicle on 19/10/18. I was assured that it was a lovely car with minor cosmetic issues and would need new front tyres soon. The cosmetic issues were significantly worse that shown in the pictures. On 23/10/18 it was in the garage having a break caliper and pad replaced, the pad was extremely rusty and had fallen apart. I had the front tyres replaced on 16/11/18 and was told to get it into a garage quickly as both the front CV boots are split plus one of the tie rod ends has significant play.

Very sorry to hear that you have had some issues with this vehicle, unfortunately it is impossible to tell customers how long any specific item may last but only how it appears on the day and we give our opinion of the vehicle the best we can. Brake pads will start rusting minutes after being fitted to a vehicle, this is no indication of how well they are working. The friction material itself does not rust and It is the amount of friction material which we advise on. It sounds as though it needed a caliper for some reason, We do not remove calipers for testing so if there were an issue that would of been impossible for me to tell without stripping the vehicle down which is not something that is part of the inspection. Everything appeared to be in order with the braking system on the day and worked as it should. I clearly remember looking at this vehicle and there were no splits in the cv gaitors evident and there was no "significant" play in one of the tie rods, These are items I checked on the day and certainly would of made you aware if they were an issue at the time. There certainly could be problems a few days/weeks/months later but again unfortunately we can only advise on any issue we find on the day of inspection. The biggest problem we face with vehicles is they can literally be ok one second and not the next and it is impossible to say how long anything might last. The vehicle had had lots of new suspension components to get it through It's Mot which was also conducted not long before I carried out the inspection and I could clearly see The work had been done and also advised of this, The cosmetic issues in my opinion were certainly not bad and I explained any found on the phone aswell as tried to make clear in the photos and then you could of looked and made an informed decision based on what your own opinion is and the information I provided, I apologise for any inconvenience and take pride in my work and the great reviews I have received up until today, if you wish to contact myself or open a case in the resolution centre I certainly would be happy to talk to yourself and go over any of these issues and explain further, I would also be happy to speak to any of the garages who have advised you on work needing doing as I'm sure they can also tell you those problems could of appeared at any time after the inspection. My experience with Paul was amazing from start to finish. He called me once he was allocated the job to introduce himself. He went out of his way to move my inspection time a bit earlier of that day which helped a lot.
Upon finishing the inspection and e-mailing the report, Paul waited for me to arrive to the garage for him to speak with me in person and inform me of the inspection results. Not only that, Paul had went above and beyond and checked the garage reputation online. And he called a couple of hours later follow up with me on what I personally thought of the car. I mean this is something that only a person who takes thier job quite seriously would do.
I believe that I recieved an excellent service from Paul and to be honest, the money I spent on the inspection was a money very well spent for the great service, ease of mind and the professional advice I recieved.
