My career began in 1989 where I served a four year apprenticeship with Jaguar. I then progressed to master technician three years later. From 2012 until recently, I worked as a roadside technician for the AA. During this time I gained a vast technical knowledge on all makes and models and experienced every situation imaginable!
My new company, JET Automotive is a fully equipped mobile workshop providing my customers with a comprehensive vehicle maintenance, repair and diagnostic service.

Mech came but didn't do the job that I paid for, told me other works need to be done (which is fine) but the work I had paid for hasn't been done.

Good evening Cassie,

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent experience with both Click Mechanic and the services I provide. All feedback is taken very seriously and I am obviously disappointed that you feel underwhelmed with my efforts to bring your vehicle up to a safe and serviceable standard.
You are correct to say that I did not carry out the work that I was instructed to do, namely to replace the drivers side handbrake cable. I made the decision to investigate further as you didn’t know who diagnosed the fault to be with the cable.
That diagnosis transpired to be completely incorrect (handbrake cables do stretch over time and with use but not to the extent of causing 80+% brake imbalance.
It would also have the same effect on the passenger side rear brake performance).

The fault lies primarily with the handbrake shoes and drums/discs. The shoes had no material whatsoever and the drum was rusty and completely unserviceable.

I communicated this to you on the the phone and sent you pictures of the worn parts. I explained that had I just replaced the cable, your vehicle would still be in a dangerous condition and would therefore not pass an MOT inspection. You suggested that the extra work required could be done in stages whenever your finances permitted and could I still fit the cable while I was with the car. I explained that the labour cost of attending your vehicle on multiple occasions would be very high and to replace just the cable at this stage would have no effect.
The conversation was left that you were going to discuss this situation with your husband who knows more about cars and we would talk the next day. I offered to explain the situation to your husband if he had any questions but I heard nothing.
I called you on two occasions today and left voicemails on both asking you to give me a call but received no response.

I am very eager to find a resolution to this situation. After all, ratings and reviews have a direct impact on my business and I want my customers to be happy and confident with the services that I provide.
