Volvo XC60 Alternator belt replacement

EL was friendly enough, but told me I needed more parts than I needed, he told me I needed a new battery and a new alternator, £870, I initially said go along with the work, but then I called The AA breakdown service out. EL was half right it did need a new battery but not an alternator, The AA replaced the battery and is working fine£235 Total cost. Saving of £635

Thank you for your feedback. However, I’d like to point out that the job you initially booked and your review are not entirely relevant.
Once I completed the belt replacement, I performed a diagnostic as a gesture of goodwill. During the diagnostic, I noticed that your alternator voltage was fluctuating at 17 volts, which is critical and you have seen yourself. I'm glad to hear that your issue was resolved by simply replacing the battery.
