Got the job done promptly and with no issues, everything is working great

Eler called before the works were carried out to say that ClickMechanic had quoted against and ordered the wrong alternator, despite being quoted against the registration of the car, however, no evidence was provided to confirm that. The alternative alternator was stated as being sourced from Euro Car Parts, but does not show up on the ECP website (there are 3 options listed (with 3 alternative prices) against the registration number) and at no time was a price point choice offered.
Almost immediately Eler suggested that additional time would be required and low and behold he was right, 1 hour in he came and said couldn’t get the the alternator out and would have to release the exhaust to do it (the guidance I’ve read is to remove the wheel arch trim but my husband is only a DIY mechanic). 1 hour later job complete with print out showing that the alternator is working and charging the battery. When it came to agreeing the price Eler tried to include the Surcharge cost that he had to pay as a deposit that he gets back when returning the faulty part ECP in the price, when challenged he took that off the bill. Once he had gone, we started car again and there was an awful smell of exhaust fumes, which went away when I properly connected airbox sensor connection however we now have an engine management issue the will have to be investigated.

Eler was really good, sorted out the passenger mirror and checked that my car was working okay. Eler gave me great advice with regards to purchasing a new car when the time comes. I am a very happy customer.

He said if i brake anything it isnt my fault,he took 5 hrs to do a 3 hr job,broke the seal on the thermostat,didn't supply the gasket set - i did,the banjo pipes to and from the turbo are leaking like a seive because he didn't use the dual washers which were in the gasket set---now its down at a proper mechanic getting sorted and costing me time off work because i haven't got a car and more money

Eler was friendly. I'm very happy with the work and will be using again in the future
