Simon was very personable both on the phone and, according to the vendor, in person too. He certainly knew his stuff and was able to provide me with the reassurance I needed buying a van that was 4.5 hours drive away.

Simon was hired to do a pre-purchase inspection on a used car I was considering buying. After a thorough check, he picked up on a couple of potentially dangerous issues, including a possible engine fault (he said something didn't seem right but couldn't pinpoint the problem, something only an experienced mechanic would pick up on) during the test drive. All info was sent via e-mail and discussed on the phone. After further investigation online, I found the fault he suspected is actually common on the make and model and leads to irreparable engine failure.
