Danny turned up on time, considering the weather (snow) he completed the job in just over an hour and half working outside. Showed all the removed parts. Pointed out one area to monitor for future but stressed nothing to worry about at the moment.

MINI Mini Front brake pads (all) replacement

Buyer beware.
A quote of £95.00 was provided and agreed for the replacement of front brake pads on a Mini. I attempted to obtain a reassurance that its brake warning functionality would still work properly after the repair – responses from Customer Service were vague. Suffice it to say that after the work was completed I was advised that a new Mini brake sensor had also been fitted, costing an additional £25.50 (no advice beforehand, the extra charge was presented as a fait accompli) AND that the brake warning functionality “would take up to 24 hours to reset”, but if it failed to do so then I would have to take the vehicle to a Mini dealer to have the reset configured.

24 hours have now passed, and the brake pad warning still stubbornly persists! Mini advise me that it will there is a charge to have the reset configured by them – so a total charge way above that which was originally quoted and agreed, plus considerable inconvenience. This will be little cheaper than the Mini dealership’s quotation of £217.00.
Not good, avoid.

Hi there Mr Sowrey sorry to here that your not happy with the service we provided fitting new front brake pads on your mini, unfortunately prices are down to click mechanic so I can’t comment on what u was quoted in respect to click mechanic or main dealers and upon arrival and a brief discussion with yourself I did mention in order for the light to go out on the dashboard the indicator warning wire sensor would have to be replaced regardless and after doing the work I did also mention that I reset the dashboard warning light but depending on how long it’s been on may have to be deleted by the main dealer. If there is anything more I can be of help with please don’t hesitate to contact me
