No it was a shocking service. I’d asked for a new alternator to be fitted I’d purposely booked a mobile mechanic as my car wasn’t mobile. The pick up was booked for between 2-4 in the afternoon. By 5 no one had turned up (and I’d not heard anything) so I contacted the garage. They said he’d be there with a tow truck by 5.15. At 6.40 a “mechanic” turned up in an Astra saying he wasn’t aware my car needed towing. I made numerous calls in the morning to find out what was happening. Eventually at 10am I got a call saying if I wanted the work done I’d have to pay an extra £80 towing fee. This was NOT what I was expecting. I said I wouldn’t get the work done on my car if that was the case. For this shocking service I was then charged a £40 cancellation fee. Honestly the worst service I’ve had in any sector. This customer wanted a mobile mechanic, but we don't offer this service and the vehicle was a non runner so we had to have the vehicle recovered to the garage,
and he was told about the extra charge before. He was a timewaster from the beginning. one of them customer if its not done his way they leave you a bad review.

Fantastic service, very transparent and straight forward. I had a hard to diagnose wiring issue and the team fixed it quickly and efficiently. It’s the type of job where someone could charge anything, but these guys were totally reliable. Will use again.

Rubbish didn’t fully charge the battery after fitting a new alternator also didn’t fit the battery cover properly when I received my van from the driver he got out give me the keys I got in and guess what???? My van didn’t start

A new alternator was fitted, the van drove from us in Enfield to customer in Islington no issues the job was done perfect.
The customer is using his vehicle everyday as a work van without any issues with the workmanship we have carried out.
His real issue was he had to pay for a recovery service to bring his vehicle to the workshop, which he wanted us to cover and we refused.

This is a direct review of ClickMechanic and not the garage that I used for my Service and MOT.

The whole point of ClickMechanic is supposedly to be a cost friendly option. I booked my car in for an MOT and Service (with collection & drop off) for 2pm on Saturday. The garage in question was closed on Sunday. Therefore I had no car until Monday afternoon.

I work three jobs and was prepared to not have my car Saturday night, so arranged lifts. But was not prepared for Sunday night or Monday. Therefore having to book cabs and use public transport ended up costing me a lot of money.

I thought at most the car would be with the garage 24hours.


ClickMechanic isn’t cheaper or more effective - your better off going to the garage for the day because you know it will be returned to you same day.

This whole thing was meant to be “cheaper” ended up costing me £50 in travel costs, which quite frankly isn’t money that I have.

It should be made clear by ClickMechanic the time frame in which you will have your car returned by a garage. Also; you shouldn’t be able to book in your car on a Saturday - if the garage is closed Sunday?!

In hind-site, at the time my booking was made - the garage should of contacted me and informed me that I would not be getting my car returned to me until Monday. If they had; I would of cancelled with them and found a more suitable mechanic.

However, the garage itself was really friendly and helpful. Also apologetic for the confusion caused by ClickMechanic.

Absolutely will not be using ClickMechanic again, really dissatisfied.

My car went in for air conditioning regas but the mechanic phoned to tell me that there was a big leak from the condenser so they couldn’t carry out the job.
They kept me informed and let me know when they were returning my car.

The job was done perfect and the customer uses the car everyday for work, no issues with the workmanship carried out.
The work was carried out on the engine bay the baby seat was at the back of the car nothing to do with the repairs we done, there are people out there that are never happy with a great service provided to them.
CCTV footage was offered to the customer to prove our position.

I was happy with the work completed, but the experience was very sub-par.

I was given a collection slot from 8-10am. At 11 I had had no communication, so I tried calling the number, and it went to voicemail. I used the resolution centre, where the garage said it would be collected in the next 45 minutes. They didn't arrive until 13:15, over 3 hours after the end of my collection slot. The mechanic said this was due to traffic in north London, but I do not understand how there can be a 3-hour delay from Enfield to Hackney! Coupled with poor communication, this was a bad start.

The car was booked to have the rear coil springs replaced as they had failed the MOT.
I called the garage at around 6pm to find out how it was going. They let me know that because of the rust on the suspension components, they were likely to break while removing the springs, this is very understandable. The garage said that the parts would be there tomorrow and the car should be back to me then.

The next day I received a call saying that they had taken the rear suspension apart, but the bots had snapped, and they could not get them from their regular supplier. Because there was a long weekend (Thurs-Sun), this meant that the bots would not arrive until Monday. As they were already ordering the extra components in, I don't see why they didn't expect these bolts to snap and order them at the same time?

On Monday they called to say that the Car was ready and would be returned the same day, it arrived around midday.

The other thing that was very worrying was that during the questionnaire on the condition of the car, I made sure to say that it was not classified as safe to drive and would not be safe to drive once the work was completed as it had failed its MOT and has dangerous defects. Once the work was complete there was still a bulge in the front tyre meaning it would still be dangerous to drive. While nothing truly serious this is worrying as if the collection driver had been pulled over by the police that would mean a fine, possibly points on their licence and I don't know what would have happened to my car. I would recommend that the garage reads the questionnaire about whether cars are safe to drive before collecting them.

Very helpful, and the work appears to be 100%.

However, I do have one concern. My car is about 14yrs old, and that age, the only way to get a reasonable price is if the car has a full MOT and a history of being kept in good repair; regular service etc. The car's MOT runs out towards the end of the year, so once it has a new MOT my plan is to sell it.

Therefore, the one thing missing is a written record of the work done on the car, including a new clutch. I have contacted the garage which did the work, and according to them, it is not their responsibility to send a full invoice; according to the garage, the responsibility of providing a full invoice, showing what work has been carried out is the responsibility of ClickMechanic.
Therefore, it would be much appreciated if your office could email a written invoice, showing what work was done. Read more
